the sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!!!!

please, while I like Bass (the player AND the beer), he wasn't likely the deciding factor in a won or loss

We should abuse their Linebackers this game. My main concern is our DL has no depth at all at DT and 1 injury at corner coud really hurt us moving forward.

I'm hoping Romo and the offense carry us this week.

Watching the game last night special teams played a major role in the game. I'm really glad they decided to get some specialist in here. Yes I think we have a very good chance to win. Guess we'll find out pretty quickly if we kept the right guys with Cohen, Selvie, and Hayden.

I'm definitely worried about the D-line, which I thought was going to be one of the strengths of the team this season until 4 people got hurt...

I really hope this team can generate enough pressure, otherwise it's going to be another long day for the secondary.

On the other hand, the Giants are also short handed on the O-line, so it could very well be a toss up. Ware and Hatcher are going to need to have monster days. Or Selvie could come out of nowhere and light them up, we'll see.

Definitely going to be a defensive test for the Cowboys and a first look at what our new 4-3 can do. If it looks anything like the preseason, it will leave me very optimistic for the rest of the season.

with all the dl injuries think eli will have all day to pass ball
I think cowboys lose because they will not be able to put pressure on manning

Try looking at the other teams situation. You might actually like our situation a little better.

Plus defending in the NFL is getting too hard to do with all of the rules.

Just be efficient on offense and win the turnover battle and you'll be fine.

Stellar defense is about to be gone in the NFL.

I'm not worried about our defense at all because I know every team in this league is going to struggle defending.

It's the first game folks. Lets just see what happens. It wouldn't be a cakewalk at full strength.

It's hard to say and I'm trying not to be a homer. I think this team has the talent even with the injuries we have right now to beat any team thrown at us. It's all going to come down to how we execute and how well we run the gameplan. The last thing I want to see this year is us with a good lead and still passing the ball. I don't predict anything (superstition) but I think we will be fine.

I expect that you guys will win at about the same score as opening game last year, if not a little more.

We will win, they have issues we have issues, but overall I believe we are more talented than they are and get this W.

We were (and still are) excited about Waters because of the positive impact he'll have on our season. But that has nothing to do with Game 1 against the Giants.

1. Ratliff is still gonna be out the first 6 weeks. 2. Spencer is still likely gonna miss the first few games. 3. We have absolutely no DT depth with the Bass the first month. 4. Waters isn't playing and Leary is just coming back from injury. Bottom line, we're nowhere near 100%. But neither is NY.

Long term, we have a lot to look forward to. 1. A healthy DL of Ware-Ratliff-Hatcher-Spencer in a pure pass rushing scheme. 2. A healthy LBer trio including Bruce/Lee. 3. The development of youngsters Frederick, Leary, Smith paired with a veteran in Waters resulting in a highly improving OL. 4. The beast known as Dez and a slew of other receiving threats. 5. A healthy Murray and some solid RB depth.

All that being said, we're not at 100%, and, therefore, we have legitimate reason to be concerned. But I think we can still pull off a win.

Not sure it could have been said better.

There's a bit of an overreaction to the D-Line injuries. We're still having a fully healthy DeMarcus Ware, and Jason Hatcher going out there, who are both primed to have the best years of their respective careers. And, Spence isn't, completely ruled out. Even if we just do something where use him as a third down rusher, he can help us out. And let's not forget our wild card, the great, the only, George Selvie.

No reason we should lose to them. We get a good pass rush and contain the run and get our running game going itll be a long night for the giants.

...........said 31 other teams.

CAN the Cowboys beat the Giants...Sure they can.

WILL the Cowboys beat the Giants...is the real question.

But there is another question out there that should be asked as well...

Will the Cowboys beat themselves?

Because they have had a history of doing that with dumb penalties and various mistakes over the last few years.
