Anybody else think if there is no OT worth #9 pick we might consider sliding Bigg Leonard to RT, and drafting for the interior of the OL in the mid rounds? Guys like Wisniewski, Moffit, Cannon, or the kid from Baylor might be better options in the 2nd and 3rd than reaching for an OT in the first round. BIGG washed out as a LT in Arizona, but could he make the move to RT in our system, and getting a younger more mobile Guard for pulling purposes?

I disagree with your initial premise. Tyron Smith is assuredly worth the #9 spot. He will be drafted in the top 10, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone before we draft.

Do you ever watch him play? Are you basing this thought off reality or some kind of fantasy that doesn't have anything to do with the player himself.

He is very top heavy right now. I think his best days are behind him. He would have to lose at 25-30 lbs and work on his feet and lateral movement to have any chance at getting better. All the coaching in the world will not help him right now. There is an abundance of guards in the draft that we could use to help this line, Nightshade is right, I say move on and just go younger.

I totally agree with your analysis of his flaws but I completely disagree with your take on coaching. Unfortunately there is apparently not going to be an offseason, but if there was, they could easily get him to lose 10-20 pounds and work on his footwork, not that he's gonna be a ballerina or even a right tackle, but with the right commitment there's no reason he can't be agile enough to play RG.

Not a personal attack at all, but I think the vast, vast majority of people that watch Cowboys games would come to the conclusion that he would be worse at RT than at RG. So I wonder how you come to that conclusion based on watching the games, rather things like "he played tackle at Arizona" or things that don't have to do with actual analysis of his play.

The title of the thread and the very first post says right up front that I wondered if DALLAS might consider this, not that I would do it, not that I think it is right, but if they might CONSIDER it as an OPTION, based on how the draft unfolds and what they get and what they don't get in the draft, and leaving no stone unturned. It's called posing a HYPOTHETICAL question. At least I guess that is what it is known as, check with the guy who is a Walking Websters Dictionary on "Irony and Coincidence" to make sure. I was always told it was called a Hypothetical though.

The crazy thing is that Davis has stated several times that he prefers LT over RT if he has to play an OT spot.
