This board's meltdown is after a loss is hilarious

I dont expect anything from this team, I've learned over the last decade high expectations only lead to letdown with this team. If they win, great, Im surprised and very happy. If we lose, well, we've been doing it for a decade.

Just what I thought..Total Garbage!

Sorry but you're not a die hard Cowboy fan!

I'd be surprised if you're really a Cowboy fan at all!

If being a "die hard fan" is living and dieing with every loss, then I'm glad I'm not a die hard fan.

Being a die hard fan means rooting for your team no matter how good or bad, and not being some tea shirt goober who only watches when they are good. I havent missed a Cowboys game since 1991.

Well you just said it...You're not a Die hard fan!

Well I haven't missed a game since 1976..I pay $200 a year just to see the games...and as far as I'm concerned you are a Goober

But your reaction would tend to lean over to the "tea shirt goober" side moreso. The more emotional fans are going to react strongly to either win or losses. It doesn't mean they're going to stop watching them after each loss (It just means they're going to complain even more).

The more seemingly blase' fan is likely to not care about the Cowboys especially during the lean years and those would also likely be the "tea shirt goober" candidates that you make mention of...

My first game was against Washington in 1991, and I have been addicted ever since. I didnt understand it that much until 1992-1993, but I still loved to watch nthem.

It almost makes losing worth it :lmao:

Get a grip people, its just a game, and only one game at that.

The only thing melting down are the Cowboys. This is the NFL, you can't keep gift wrapping games.

I don't know... I would think for a true "addict", you'd have to be more emotionally invested than this. It just seems that you follow the Cowboys rather than being an actual fan of them... (Yes, I know the term fan encompasses a broad area. As such, I wouldn't complain about the fans who are lukewarm in their reaction to the Cowboys wins/losses BUT at the same time, I wouldn't complain about the emotionally charged fans either.)

Reading the ridiculous "we are going 4-12" posts and such soothe the pain of loses. :)

First of all, you have a weird sense of humor if you are honestly laughing at cowboys fans for being sad about this loss.

Second, if it doesnt bother you or you dont really "care" much at all, why are you posting right now, go play with your dog or do your homework or something, geez, also you have like 6 posts or so in this thread alone, you dont care then leave simple as that.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out

Show me someone who gets used to losing, and I'll show you a loser.

Boy i see some nasty responses from some who claim christianity and that they respect Christ. But thats par for the course from what ive observed in my time.

You guys all know that HH is just stating that there is more to life than football and i think Tom Landry would back him up on that.

I consider anyone with one post (with exceptions like Brice, Phoenix) on this board after 10 years of frustrating losses a true fan.

There are many good things Heavy Hitter and I can do with our Sundays, yet when the Cowboys are 5-10 about to go 5-11, we're still prefer to plop our ***** to watch the Cowboys.

How can you argue with that?

I just don't agree with his attitude towards those of us who are more emotionally invested with the Cowboys than him. Everyone has their own ways to root for their teams. I'm not going to denigrate the other ways (be it with the excessive optimism/cheerleading or the constant criticisms or the laidback, que sara sara outlook by the thread starter)...

Yes I am a Christian, and I in no way feel that my above quote contradicts that stance.

I too realize that there is more to life than football, but that does not mean I don't hurt when the Cowboys lose as they did, as Tom Landry did too I'm sure.

I also think Landry would agree that if you become satisfied with losing, you will ultimately be a loser.

If you are going to attack my faith, please find something more substantial to base it on, ... but attacking Christians is par for the course from what I've observed in my time.
