Newman isnt gone for the season, Romo isnt going to throw 20 INTs, Terry Glenn isnt going to fall into a million pieces the first time he gets hit, Aaron Glenn isnt going to be match up against an 8 foot receiver every week, and Greg Ellis has two first round picks ready to step in for him.

We have enough talent to win the NFC East WITHOUT Newman, and when he trots out week one and makes Eli Manning his own personal stepping stone into the netional spotlight, many of you are going to feel very foolish for worrying so extensively about this.

i hope your right....although i disagree about the newman thing....without him i think we'd give up 100 more yards then we probably would with him out there

and yes..he will own Manning (if he plays)

Tnew is worth yards and points in most games, if he doesn't play. He might be worth 2 games too. 9-7 vs. 11-5?

If this makes you feel any better...

Remember how devastating when Flo went down 2 years ago? Did his loss hurt our offense? YES. HOWEVER-it was our SORRY KICKING GAME that undid us that year. You should know that.

And what's all the fuss that Ellis' loss hurt our D last year? Sorry guys-but Ellis was HEALTHY in previous years, yet we still managed to tank down the stretch.

Take a chill pill, man.

Depending on the number of games missed, it could mean a couple of losses. The concern is real, even if the presentation lacks a little something. :(

Yes-Flo's loss had alot to do with our sorry kicking game that year. We should have been 12-4 instead of 9-7 with a decent kicker. Heck-if Billy Cundiff makes that FG in the 2nd Skins game, it's 7-3 at the point, and the FedEx crowd quiets down. On the contrary, they go nuts over the miss, Keyshawn screams at Torrin Tucker on the sidelines, and we go downhill afterwards.

Dude-we're NOT undervalueing TNew's injury-but you have to put alot more factors in teams' successes/failures.

and what's this "concern" gonna get ya? well, other than far too many people who must start their own topic time and time again as if the old is suddenly new.

running around going WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!!!!!????? never fixed anything as far as i know.

well I am not jumping out any windows yet.

However i remember the last time newman and glenn were injured, 2004.

I remember how newman gimping around was an average player and the rest of the corners stunk, hunter was injured, reeves and jones both rookies couldnt even get on the field. We had to sign lance frazier and tryone williams.

I am sick to my stomach thinking about this team having to sign an old beat up cb to get by. I hope that never happens.

Newman was injured that year?

Pretty much the ENTIRE team stunk-Marcellus Wiley went from 20+ sacks with SD with ZERO sacks with us. The DL(it was healthy) play was AWFUL. Our OL play wasn't any better. We were stuck with a 50 yr old QB. And when Julius was healthy, he was up and down anyways-if Chicago and Seattle had healthy LB corps(Urlacher didn't play), JJ would have stunk up the joint instead.

And lastly, Parcells' BIGGEST mistake was getting that loan officer from the practice squad, when Jerry suggested to fill this hole elsewhere.

Yep-we had TOO many problems that year. Our problems now are a drop in the bucket compared.

newman played hurt the whole 04 season, I am not comparing this team to that one, I am simply saying the last time glenn and newman were injured was 04 and it wasnt pretty.

Obviously we are leaps and bounds better than that team. Until glenn was hurt we were a pretty decent team. We had pittsburgh beat and should have beat the giants but one play in each of those games started the ball downhill.

You dont have to be doom and gloom to know that the absence of Tnew is huge. Henry and anyone else we currently have represents a liability.

Yeah-even with the injuries we had NYG and Pitt in the bag nonetheless. We would have been 4-1, instead of 2-3 going into Lambeau(where the Pack hadn't won at home yet that year).

The way we lost those games, I knew our season was over.

Again-No One is saying TNew's injury is a drop in the bucket.

But what are we going to do? Stay up late worrying about it?

Nice thread .......

But we all know that in the first 5 minutes of the first game you will say "Thats it, Games over, We are gonna suck again this year" on the game day thread.

NO! No more bad juju HTD!

LOL!

well I asked the "magic 8 Ball anyway, being the curious one that I am.

"Is HeavyHitta31 correct in his assessment of the Cowboys, their injuries, and winning the NFC East?"

8 ball answer:

"Absolutely!"

So there you have it, HeavyHitta31 is correct, according to the Magic 8 Ball

:)
