the same feeling from 93 when these two teams were playing for home field advantage in the final week of the season. I know there are differences but it has that kind of feeling. Honestly, people are doubting the Giants and have already annointed the Cowboys as the NFC favorites. This game can catapult the Giants or confirm what most think.

No matter what happens, it is going to be a hard fought, close game.

Good luck and as always, I'll be here during the week and definitely after the game no matter what.

What news have you been reading?

Everything I've read has us at about 50/50. About half say we're the best...half say the Giants are the best team.

If you all win, I don't think it means you have the best team in the NFC. We'll have split our games. I actually think we'd own the tie breaker with you all.

I know you all have been given a pass in our first contest. Most have pointed out how your team wasn't healthy.

But neither was ours....as a matter of fact, last night was one of the few times our entire secondary saw the field at the same time.

This will be a fun game. It won't nearly be the offensive show it was the first time. I think we'll handle your group better, since we have Ellis and Newman. I think you'll handle us better with a healthy Strahan and familiarity with your scheme.

I think the key will be our OL vs your DL. If we give Romo time, he'll move the ball.

I wouldn't be surprised if we win....or if we lose.

this is for the East, we win, it's our's, we lose, we're tied for 1st place

Bizwah, if we lose, we hold the tie-breaker, as of now

strength of victory over the Dolphins

Really?

I thought it was because of our better conference record.

Here's the tie-breaking method:

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in common games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

If they win, they'd be 3-1 in the division, and we'd be 2-1 in the division. So they'd be in first.

My gut is telling me this is going to be a tough game.

Yeah, we beat 'em at home. But the Giants have come around since then. And for those who want to chime in on the "weak schedule" stuff, the same standard then must be applied to us.

The reality of it is, you can only beat the opponents they put before you. And the Giants have been doing that after starting out slow.

Its a rivalry game. Its in NY. The Giants are playing pretty well. Its going to be a tough game.

I think Eli has played considerably worse. And that's against some piss poor teams.

The best team they've played since September has been the Atlanta Falcons. Yes, they've played literally 3 of the 4 worst teams in the NFL over the past month. Go check out the San Francisco game. Trent Dilfer had a better statline than Eli.

And against arguably the worst of those teams, in the last game they played, they looked like absolute crap. They somehow managed to make Cleo Lemon look like a legit NFL quarterback.

This game won't be close.

I think the game could potentially be close, but you're right, Eli has played like crap. Look at his game by game stats on NFL.com and you'll see a QB that peaked in week 1 and has been at best mediocre to bad ever since.

I'll excuse his horrible stats against the Dolphins because of just how screwed up the playing conditions were there, but the others? Well....

In the SF game, his receivers were dropping some of his passes(looked like the sun got in their eyes), in the Jets game, he had a 100+ QB rating in the second half, compared to an abysmal 1st half-overall, he's played pretty well since our last meeting.

He's the scary part-he seems to play his best games against us.

Here's his stat-line since playing us:

117/208 (56.2%), 1272 Yards, 9 TDs, 7 INTs, 74.9 QB Rating

That's bad. And that's against some of the worst teams in the league. Considering this is his 4th season, that's looking for another QB in the draft bad.

Including Eli's one good game against, our opposing QBs have put up a 73.7 QB rating (6th in the league). I haven't run the numbers lately, but earlier in the season, our opponent's QB ratings were on average lower against us than against all of their other opponents.

In other words, it's going to be very strange if Eli puts up a rating much higher than the 75-80 range. If he does that, there's very little chance they're in the game past the 2nd quarter.

That's a good pt-remember he didn't do ALOT against Philly's D at the Meadowlands(and this despite Lito/Brian not playing, and Sheldon played with a banged up shoulder).

OTOH-Lito and Brian DID play against us, and look what Romo did.:laugh1:

It will be a hard fought game.

I think the fact that you are saying people are giving the cowboys the nfc, is a reach trying to pump yourself up about your team. Everyone does it.

turn on any national radio or tv network and when it comes to Dallas the only things you hear about are the things we cant do, how our safeties cant cover and brittany spears.

no one ever talks about the important stuff like the return of ellis, the now healthy and surging Jason Hatcher, our two good running backs, our terrific kicker, our offensive tackles who are getting better each week and finally the depth we have which is allowing us many different looks offensively and defensively.

the familiarity in this game is enough to keep it a close who ever has the ball last type of game.

I will say this losing anderson could be a big blow to us and in particular our special teams. Hopefully watkins is ok.

the giants did an excellent job of getting us in a bind defensively in septemeber and last year. It will be interesting to see the difference in the game with newman and henry back to go with Gregg Ellis, Jason hatcher and tank johnson. Those guys did not play last time and hatcher was suffering from a hamstring issue.

again I think the familiarity keeps it a close one. Special teams will be big, We have the better kicker but ny has the better coverage teams, so field position will be immense and of course it is going to come down to the quarterbacks and manning has had some pretty good games against us and romo has had some struggles against ny, although in september he was nearly perfect.

I dont understand why the national media keeps ommitting the fact that the giants lost to Dallas and Green Bay. Not that power rankings are worth 2 cents, cause they are not, but these analysts that hate us conveniently never include that.
