This Cowboys @ Giants game has...

If Eli plays well, it will come down to the 4th quarter. If he doesn't show up, I think we can run away from them. On offense, we need our OT's to play extremely well versus the Gmen. On defense, we have to contain Shockey.

the same feeling from 93 when these two teams were playing for home field advantage in the final week of the season. I know there are differences but it has that kind of feeling. Honestly, people are doubting the Giants and have already annointed the Cowboys as the NFC favorites. This game can catapult the Giants or confirm what most think.

No matter what happens, it is going to be a hard fought, close game.

Good luck and as always, I'll be here during the week and definitely after the game no matter what.

What? Almost everyone is calling them the best team in the NFC despite the fact that they've lost to both teams in the NFC who have a better record then they do.

If anyone is getting "Doubted" is the cowboys and packers.

I had a bad gut feeling about this game prior to the NYFG/Miami game. It's awfully hard for a team that's not dominant to sustain long consecutive winning streaks, though. We went through our lull with Buf, NE, and a bit of the game with Minny. I think with our bye week and the win this weekend we're past it and on an upswing again. The Giants look a little bit like a team that's entering a lull, though that might change with their own bye week. The fact that they're at home after a bye is huge for them.

Either way, I expect a wild game. If it's not close, I'm going to homer out for the rest of the season and dream of ways of convincing myself we could win a rematch with the Patriots.

Edit: Interesting. I hadn't realized before posting this that the Giants have a bit of a bye-week hangover. Let's hope that plus our road record this year end up working in our favor.

Honestly, I don't think the Dallas defense is getting the credit they deserve by those analyzing this game.

In addition to having two impact players - Ellis and Newman - back, the defense has gotten out of the "stay at home" mentality that plagued them early on. Even though the defense could be playing better, they are now playing within the scheme and flying to the ball.

Reeves now has 8 more starts under his belt, and even though he can still be a liability at times, he's playing well enough to start for most teams.

Ratliff might get more of a breather if Tank Johnson is ready to go this week.

Despite the eye-popping numbers that NY and NE put up against Dallas, Dallas is still second in the NFC and sixth in the NFL in opponent passer rating.

NY has improved defensively as well.

Here is how I see it.

Eli and Plaxico always seem to hurt the Cowboys. Like Randy Moss and Lito Sheppard do. So, that alone tells me the Giants are going to score some points.

As for the Cowboys offense, it seems to be playing well enough to score on anybody. So, the Cowboys will score also. As for the Giants defense, they have racked up most of their sacks and other *good* defensive stats against very poor offensive teams. When they have faced good offensive teams they have been lit up.

The Cowboys offense will light up the Giants defense again this week. The Giants will score against the Cowboys, but I don't think they have enough firepower to win a shootout with the Cowboys.

Cowboys over Giants 42 - 27

The remaining schedule favors the Cowboys:

Giants:

DALLAS -- Dallas slight favorite
at Detroit -- Detroit has found its defense, and offense
MINNESOTA -- Peterson will again have a big day
at Chicago -- Chicago will be fighting mad by this time
at Philadelphi -- Easy NYG win
WASHINGTON -- Easy NYG win
at Buffalo -- Probably a NYG win
NEW ENGLAND -- If NE is going for undefeated, Giants lose

Cowboys:

at NY Giants -- Cowboys slight favorite
Washington -- Easy Cowboy win
NY Jets Easy -- Cowboy win
Green Bay -- Cowboys will be favored, Giants already lost to Green Bay
at Detroit -- Will be tough game for Cowboys
Philadelphia -- No revenge for McNabb today
at Carolina -- Cowboys know Testeverde's tendencies
at Washington -- Cowboys will be favored, but game isn't a big deal by now.

and only if NY can run the ball. Jacobs is healthy now and Ward gave us all sorts of problems last time: their O-Line is underrated. I like us in a close game but it could go either way. Stop the run game, beat their blitz and contain Plax. That's the game plan. Make it 27-24 Dallas.

Hello, Tom.

Don't know how it's going to come out, but I hope there are no serious injuries for either team.

Dallas has lost two players to IR (Ferguson and Anderson) since the first Cowboys/Giants game, one of whom did not play in that game, I believe, but who since became valuable. There are some others, though, that you'll see that you didn't see before.

Both teams will be considerably different from the teams they were in the first game.

Good luck, but not winning luck for this game.

Bet big on Dallas at -1. ;)
I need a winner. I was up for the year and lost the last 5 bets ive placed. i picked the ravens + 9 1/2 last night and that game was awful.

I'll take the dallas game this week and if i lose, i'm done for the year, wont bet anymore - i'll be down to -300 and thats as much as i'll give up in a year. If the Boys cover, i'll try to pull back up betting 50 a game and picking one game a week.

Forget Testaverde, the Panthers are far worse than their 4-4 record, overratted, slow defense, with a pathetic secondary, and the worse homefield advantage in the league. They currently are 0-4 AT HOME this season.
