Today is also the day that you guys are still talking about the Dez Bryan catch-non catch. Just like yesterday, the day before that and the 3,287 days in between.

That’s okay. If the game on Sunday unfolds like the odds makers predict, you won’t be back here to see us talking about it.

I still don’t think he caught it. He trapped it and it hit the ground. When he gets up he wasn’t throwing up no X, or being cocky. He knew it moved.
He caught it. Two steps and then a football move (extending for the GL).

Anyhow Shields knocked the ball out while he was trying to extend the ball, they wouldve said it was a fumble

Why do this to yourselves? Lol.

The disputed catch that actually changed how the game was officiated was the Pittsburgh TE against the Patriots in the playoffs years after this one. The rule was altered that off-season.

You just told on yourself, don't they always say, some part of the ball can hit the ground. You said he trapped it THEN it hit the ground

The part I've never understood is the ball pops up when his arm hits the ground but the ball itself didn't touch the ground and he caught it again when it popped up. That's a catch

The ball hitting the ground is the whole crux of the call. If it's kept off the ground, it was a catch the whole way but once it bobbled after that and came out of his possession that's what did it.

That wasn’t the rule back then. They changed the rule because of this game, to add some clarity.
