It’s a great year to draft a DE if you need one as this class is loaded with depth. Not very top heavy, but a TON of top 30/40 ish type talents that I think can turn into quality starters.

After Kayvon and Hutch it’s hard to sort these guys out too partially just dependent on what your favorite flavor is.

DE could be a good option for us in the 1st or 2nd depending on what the board looks like.

Can somebody like Myjai Sanders give us what Gregory did? I think the answer is yes

Doubt it...Gregory was a legit, top 10 talent that fell due to off the field issues. He was seriously in the same ballpark as Thibodeaux as a prospect.

I like Myjai and do think he could be solid though.

Although I am in the neophyte stage of draft analysis, that was a strong trend I saw in most evaluations and mocks. I even did simulations where I drafted two in the first three rounds although I had like 5 picks from trading down.

Parsons should get all the meaningful pass rush opportunities. In obvious run situations he should be inside at his backer position. The sweet spot for DE will be round 2 or early round 3.

We really lack a gritty BIG heavy handed DE this year. We were bullied , shoved around. We need to grab us a BIG DE. Who are the top 3 in this class that fit the bill?

But gregory is going to be in the 12-15 a year range for 6 sacks a year......????

No way in hell would spent another 1st round pick, especially near the bottom of the round, on DE. Call it cold feet from the Taco pick or whatever but IMO DE/pass rushers is one of trickest position in the draft coz of one word.....sacks. Fair or not, sacks are the stats they are judged on but you no way of knowing how their college success will translate to the NFL.

Definitely.

Would not be opposed to adding a pass rusher early.

DEs are sorta like QBs….keep drafting them.

Agree 100%…even if we resign Randy I wouldn’t be opposed to drafting DE if it’s clear cut BPA.

You can NEVER have enough pass rushers.

Who you like that you think we have a chance at?

Scouts love Walker. Not great production but athletic and powerful. Can move inside on passing downs. He can play either end position and is a heck of a run defender. His best football is ahead of him.

I like the traits, but it’s a hard sell to take him in the first when he’s a tweener.

If we’re going to take an edge player round 2 is where I would start looking. One you get to round 3 you looking at getting an Armstrong type to add to the rotation.

Why not round 1? If a stud falls in all in for DE in round 1.
