Teams are teeing off on our lack of success stopping the run, which creates a viscous cycle where our D gets tired, and our greatest skillset (pass rush) goes unused early in games.

I know people are saying these are off tackle runs but that’s simply not true. Other posters have shown the run maps and most long runs are right up the middle. Eagles game is perfect example.

If we can just get a scary fat man that gobbles double teams I have faith that our linebackers will play better and I have faith that Cox and Clarke show enough promise to shore up our LB position long term.

If we get that guy, offenses become one dimensional, and it becomes a freak show

Do I think we need a DT yes but I’m not certain LB isn’t a bigger need hope you’re right bout Clark and cox
LVE isn’t bad just seems slow

I wonder if the Panthers would give up Derrick Brown since they are trading everyone else right now. I’d give up a 3 for him since he has 2 years left before needing to get paid

0 chance of that happening. Carolina will be looking for a 1st and probably more to deal Brown. They’d be insane to move him for scraps.

It would also help collapse the pocket and add to the sack count

Also need a run stuffing LB....hoping Clark or even Cox can help there but obviously neither has been given the opportunity yet. LVE is not the answer and Barr is inconsistent as well. Looks like we will have to be satisfied with what is on the roster already. Don't anticipate them doing any kind of trade during the season.

It's going to take more than a 3rd, brother. He was drafted 7th overall. Our 25th to 31st first round pick might work. But not a late round 3rd, IMO.

You guys keep touting this mythical beast that doesnt' exist. To the point the Cowboys are drafting players like John Ridgeway...

If you ask me, they need more help on the line, and at WR.

Hopefully, Simi gets better and Washington can make a difference. Because right now, our TEs are stepping up and that's been nice to see.
Our guys in the middle are playing fine right now. Sure, they could be upgraded, but they're doing well enough to help their team become a top defense.

You can always tell the 'fans' who
a) Never saw a legendary defense at work
b) never saw any version of Doomsday
c) really have no concept of reality

I find this comment funny, because you act like these guys grow on trees. And that they're just cheap, and don't cost anything.

Like, we can get Warren Sapp for $3 million, and still sign guys like Parsons, Diggs, etcetera, in the future.

The Cowboys want to keep the players they like, which is why this isn't as easy as some make it out to be — in reality, that is, of course.

Disagree to some extent. I dont think our run D is a weakness, I just think our pass defense is soo good that its really the ONLY play they can attack us and hope to have some success. If you look at the ypc for opposing backs in some of these games, its not great.

I also dont think that DT is our biggest issue. LVE is our biggest issue in the run game. He sucks. He comes from the Jaylo Smith school of linebacking where you dont run up into the hole. You just tentatively hang around waiting for the play to come to you. LVE needs to do.

Thankfully help is on the way in the form of Clark our rookie from LSU. This guys is going to be a good one. The sooner he gets up to speed, the sooner we can punt LVE in the starting lineup.

1T and LB.

You add Da’Ron Payne in place of Watkins and Tremaine Edwards in place of LVE and the defense is special.

This…we need both.

Our LBs never get TFLs…ever.

I’ve been screaming to play Parsons more at MLB on base downs but it doesn’t seem to be happening.

NTs don't sell jerseys. They need to be undersized 3-techniques who can get sacks. I bet if you ask Jerry/Stephen who a prototypical DT is, they would probably say Tyrone Crawford
