the main reason is you wont get to play some of the terrible quarterbacks and offenses Dallas did last year. They also had luck go their way in a few games when their opponents offense was seriously depleted due to injury like the Lions were.

Not to many Joshua Dobbs, Davis Mills or Gardner Minshews on the schedule this year. You do get Sam Howell twice I guess though.

Defensive rankings are just a product of the offenses you play and whether or not you have a lead, regardless of talent.

The defense will almost certainly be worse, statistically, this year because of a) health and b) quality quarterback play - potentially anyway
