This DT / DE should be the Dallas Cowboys top target in the 1st round (2025 DRAFT)

Mason Graham or Will Campbell(OT), in that order if they are still there. Dallas need top talent, not trade downs in the 1st.

Texas Longhorns DT / DE Alfred Collins: 6'5", 320 lbs, super quick/strong and aggressive playmaker no matter if they line him up inside or outside. He is a perfect clone of the Chiefs Chris Jones.

Yes, RB Ashton Jeanty wants the Cowboys to draft him (he would be a good pick in the 1st round), but there are other pretty good RBs who can be picked up in the mid rounds (for example: Texas Longhorns RB Jayden Blue).

You don't pass up a Chris Jones clone for your D-line. We have not had a hybrid DT/DE who could play this good in 20 years.

Make Alfred Collins your 1st round target, Cowboys!

What say you?

i dont know about this guy in the 1st round. Most Draft pre evaluations, have him in 4th or later. I do like the IDEA of getting a difference maker at DT/DE in 1st and save getting a RB until Round 3/4(will need to trade down to pick up a 4th pick.)

honestly if we end up with top 10 pick we need to trade down a few times to bottom of the 1st 20-32 range pick up some extra pics, because we are getting gutted by players not panning out later in the draft and killing us when they leave and we have holes everywhere. Will they do that who knows. If BB is here YES we are trading back to get more pics. anyone else i dont know. Jerry is going to want a new toy to sell jerseys so look for a RB or WR or some other flashy position.

I’d have to disagree AC. If we go DT I want Walker.

On ESPN’s current 107 player big board, Alfred Collins is not listed:

On PPF’s 277 player big board, he is not listed:

https://www.pff.com/draft/big-board?season=2025

Tankathon has the top 100 players, he is not listed:

https://www.tankathon.com/nfl/big_board

CBS’s top 100 big board does not have him listed:

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/?position=all

And finally, On nflmockdraftdatabase.com, a site that aggregates the running mock draft sites around the web, Alfred Collins averages being the 200th player taken.

Doesn't matter if one is a Texas Longhorns fan or not. If you did some homework and watched Alfred Collins' play, you would realize how good he is.

So let’s straighten this out: you believe, based on your comments in the OP, that you have a better college scouting acumen THAN EVERY OTHER PERSON WHO EXISTS ON PLANET EARTH. Is that roughly what you’re getting at? If Alfred Collins played at Utah, or he played at Oregon State, or he played at Marshall, you would not care who he is.

If this is just an attempt at getting a Longhorn in a Cowboys jersey, then take Kelvin Banks, move Guyton to RT and June 1st Terrence Steele. High fives in the war room for one of the best fits of the first round. Then still go out and pick up Collins with one of your day 3 comp picks.

Where are you seeing 1st round grade on this guy? Rated the #23 DL entering the season and hasn’t exactly been spectacular 1 sack, 4 tfl. About the highest grade I can find on him is in the lower portion of the 3rd. In 5 seasons he has 7 sacks (high of 2) and 16 tfl… not exactly Chris Jones esq!
Right position, wrong player!
Walter Nolen 6’4 305 would currently be my target. Currently he’s listed as high as #12 overall and that’s likely to go up once NFL personnel get a view of his tape, especially the Georgia game. He’s a wrecking ball vs the run and just needs hand usage refinement to be a major force in the pass rush. 9 sack in just under 3 seasons along with 20 tfl. If there’s a player in the draft with Fletcher Cox/Chris Jones attributes/projections it’s him… paired with Parsons and Kneeland this is a perennial top 10 or better dline!

Unless they get the 1st pick and can trade down to 5-6 and get a MAJOR haul for that. At 5 or 6, I’m thinking Mason Graham could still be there and then you use the extras on upgrades at OL, RB, even more DL…EVERYWHERE!!!!!

It will be interesting how the rankings play out but the only DT I’m taking in the top 10 as of now is Mason Graham.

Same. I'm still watching different guys, but there's no question that Mason Graham is a USDA certified Grade A stud.

I'm the biggest UT homer here and love Alfred Collins. But I ain't taking him in the 1st round.

I don't know if Collins is the guy, but I like your thinking. If we pick in the top 10 we need to be taking a monster for the D-line. PERIOD

So, if any of the FO’s around the league truly value PFF, AC may be on to something here - they have Collins in the 1st Round in their latest Mock. Don’t know what it means, but someone else sees a 1st Rounder in him.
:omg:
