I watched Bengals lose. But not the way we did. It most certainly is not about "losing". It's being totally smeared from the get go to the end in nearly every aspect of the game.

At least with...the former QB... we often had a shot at it in the end.
that's a very very good point well on all points you made. I feel like the ball actually got down the field better, I'm not sure what it is when trying to come back, dumping it off for two yards or so like what the hell is that going to do when you're pressed for time and need to score

This one feels worse than ‘just a loss’. This team had no answers for what they were getting out there yesterday.

They couldn’t even slow the Saints down.

They look fundamentally flawed out there on defense. Nothing was working.

And our offense clearly couldn’t match their pace. Our offensive tackles struggled repeatedly to pass protect when they had to have it.

It might just be one ‘L’, but it feels bigger than that to me. It feels like this team has some serious issues.
Spot on. The DC looked like so many of our past teams over the last 25 years when playing elite (tougher) opponents. Our whole team/coaching staff was outmanned with exception to our FG kicker.

And what's worse is that the Texans won last night. And their obnoxious fans won't shut up about it and they love to throw it at all the Cowboys fans that their team won and the boys lost!! They love it when the Cowboys lose!! smdh

It's a flashback to the playoff loss, where nothing went right.

You sort of hope the offseason is where the team addressed the previous years issues.

It's just one loss, and it's just week 2, but I get the feeling that it's more than one loss cause the same issues remain.

Technically it all was addressed. Think about it. Think about the "all in" comment at the beginning of the year. Then when nothing happened, people started dog piling on the Jones Boys. Now Jerry starts snapping back at fans and the Cowboys win big versus the Browns. However, now we see what this team really is. It's completely mismanaged my two goofs that don't really know all that much about football. Jerry and his idiot son really think they know more than anyone else. Well here it is; their total football knowledge on full display.

It's not even that we lose it's HOW WE lose, when we lose like this we look lost, confused out played and like we're a pee wee team just learning how to play
You can feel the confusion and, dare I say, indifference as soon as the Saints go up 7-0. Yeah, we go down get a field goal. Hooray. But you can read these coaches and players. They give up as fast as we do when the writing is on the wall.

100 pct accurate. It was a reminder that this team has no chance.

Yup. It’s like this team has been conditioned to accept it’s place as a has-been in this league.

They look pretty comfortable with losing in embarrassing fashion and then heading to the podium to make excuses and talk about “learning” from the experience (puke)

No grit. No balls. No pride. No fight. They care about getting their bag and not much else.

Just like their leader and CEO.

To lose this poorly after the debacle in January and following all of the “we will learn from this” BS back then and an offseason of “we are all in” is not just pathetic.

It’s inexcusable, ridiculous, abysmal, and revelatory in terms of the size of the grand canyon shaped void in the very soul of this once proud franchise.

They will “rebound” and probably win 10 games this season, and then repeat this kind of performance in a “win to get in” or playoff game situation.

It’s as regular as death and taxes

Several of the "big" teams floundered this weekend. 49ers, Lions, Ravens. It was a bad loss, but it only counts 1 game in the loss column. Hopefully they shore up some of their weaknesses and come back and compete next week. And I'll be rooting!!!

Good thing it proves we still don't have the guts to fight back even against a mediocre team.
You may not...I played or coached football in over 300 games....I've seen it all. Worse thing the can do right now is hang their head and give up on the season. Sound familiar.

We need to win our next game. A heavy defeat this weekend and it could get real ugly real soon. This team wont rebound from 2 x blowouts.

If I hang my head or not has no bearing on what these professional athletes need to do...if they can.
If this were a one off I'd feel differently. If it were just a loss that we fought tooth and nail....I'd feel differently.

Worse thing to do now us sugar coat it.

How would you know what a professional athlete is thinking?

What? If it was addressed, then where are the starter quality DT's and stud RB?

That's why I always say I can tell how a game is going to go by the first few series, we lost the game in about 6 minutes, they out played us from the start of the game!!

If we were competitive and lost by a close score, I'd say let's pull up our pants and get ready for battle.

But we were run through ... every weakness was exposed from top to bottom.

It was an eye opener for sure. And I think you are right. This teams has some serious flaws. The rookie LT is not ready for prime time. It happens. The Giants drafted Evan Neal, 7th overall in the 2022 draft and he is still a mediocre player for them. They drafted Andrew Thomas 4th overall in the 2020 draft. He is better than Neal but not great considering his draft position.

Just because Dallas took Guyton in the 1st round does not mean he is great or he will be great. The kid needs to get stronger and work on his technique. Maybe he will be great some day, but he is not right now. It would have been better to sign Tyron for a 1 year deal and let Guyton back him up.

Terence Steele was never a great pass blocker. But he isn't as good as he was before his injury. Zack Martin is definitely sliding on the downside of his career. Beebe seems to be holding his own and Tyler Smith is still good, but the offensive line is a definite weakness right now. One guy makes a good block and the other four are shoved into the backfield. There is really little forward movement from this group.

I don't have to discuss the RBs. We all see the problem there. At WR we put too much faith in Cooks, who is getting older, guys like Tolbert and Brooks who are unreliable, and the TEs not named Ferguson. Dak is a good, not great QB. He cannot makes the scrap heap we have on offense better, or good enough to beat solid defenses.

On defense, our safeties are mediocre, especially in coverage. Diggs is hit or miss. Lewis is solid, Bland is solid, but Caelen Carson is a rookie getting picked on. He looked good in pre-season but this is the big leagues now. Our secondary is awful in run defense, btw.

The LBs are good enough, not great, but good. The problem is the DL. Phillips is a waste of space which is why the Giants let him go. He can't play. Joseph is old. Mazi is maybe a hair better than Phillips but a huge disappointment. Tyrus Wheat should be on the practice squad. Kneeland is a rookie. Golston is a JAG. The DL is actually a joke.

Put is all together and this team maybe wins 6 games this year.

it doesnt... It isn't it's one loss and we've had this happen before it's a week to week lead I know it looks bad and it feels bad and I understand all the backlash..

But we've seen this happen at least once or twice in the last three seasons that we finished with twelve wins.
.
I mean you don't remember the games like against Derek Carr and the Raiders at the Denver Broncos a few years ago last year the San Francisco game amongst others looked very familiar... And yet we bounce back every year and won 12 games and won our division two out of the last 2 of 3 years....

I don't believe it's gonna carry over and kill our season Mike Zimmer looked like his ex offensive coordinator had his number and he knew every play coming and they executed it to perfection... I'm betting that's not the first time that when 2 very familiar foes go up against each other and know each other that one of them gets the advantage over the other and this is like he knew the play was coming so he called it down to Derek Carr and they put the right call in every single time...

I mean it literally looked like it was cheating you know like signal stealing that that's how bad this look it looked like they recognized every single defensive alignment and called the perfect play for it and we just were not executing enough to slow it down we had no answer so that is a lot on Mike Zimmer it's a lot on the defense but I don't believe it's gonna have any carryover that's why you play 17 games it's a law of averages you're not gonna play perfectly every game..

And I realize this is historically bad but it's still only equals one loss that's it you know how many teams right now are winless? There's quite a few but there's a whole bunch of them that have one win and one loss just like us and there's very few that are undefeated..

I don't think the wins or losses heavy level you don't grade them that way they're single loft and a single win and that's how we should look at this...
