Not only was Jaden's acting poor, the bully's acting was absolutely hideous.

My kids are always imitating the bully. Especially the part where they throw the paper on the ground and Jaden kept picking up. The bully said "I said leave it". It was said in a heavy accent. Not sure if it was real or faked but for some reason is struck a cord with my kids and they love to repeat it....... :laugh1:

Like others have said ..... it was all more believable than the acting in the first one.

Disagree.

I just don't see anything in this newer version that is better than the old one...wait the scenery is much better. Other than that...nah just don't see it.

The original was and is a classic...this new one will be long forgotten down the road.

I don't think I saw him say anything negative towards Will Smith. Just this remake (Karate Kid). I for one have liked every Will Smith movie I have watched. Hopefully this new movie will be the same. Hopefully as Jaden ages he will get better at acting.

Will Smith was in the movie?

I actually like most of his movies...well that hancock one sucked pretty bad but otherwise I generally like his movies.

I thought the new karate kid sucked compared to the original. I won't say machio is a good actor but over all I thought the original movie was at least a million times better.

I never understood the whole "transferred from Detroit to China" bit.

i doubt it will be bad. To this day I still have not seen a bad movie done my Will Smith.

You've obviously never seen Wild Wild West. Even Will Smith admits it was a disaster.

About this movie, you do stuff for your kids you might not do if it was anybody else's kid. Actors pick roles for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it's just because there are roles for the people they want to work with.

I never really understand all the M. Night hate. Not everything he's done has been awesome or anything, but at least his movies are different.

Everybody complains that there's no originality in Hollywood, then when a writer or director makes movies that are different everyone says that they're weird or dumb. When someone's being experimental not everyone is going to love every finished product. Would it be better if he turned out the same Hollywood filler that most others come out with all the time, especially in the genres he works in?

I thought the martial arts was better, but young Smith was terrible.

I like Will Smith. I didn't like "Wild, Wild West", "Hancock" or "I,Robot".

Different is fine, but I think his movies are just boring. The stories don't interest me and the direction is lacking.

To me his biggest problem is that he got locked into this thing where every movie needed a twist. The problem with that is that once the audience is expecting a twist it's almost impossible to give them one that's satisfying.

No doubt he's made some bad movies, that airbender thing looked painful, and The Village was a really long build up to a pretty predictable gimmick.

But I kind of liked Lady in the Water and The Happening besides the Biggies that most people liked (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, etc.).

Lady in the Water was just odd, but I like Paul Giamatti, and the story was interesting, if a little strange.

And, The Happening really felt like somebody making an updated version of one of those 1950s B-Movie Sci-fi horror flicks. I thought it was fun. But, nobody else I've talked to about it liked it at all, so maybe I'm just weird.

He doesn't get enough credit for Stuart Little. That movie was epic! :D

Hate if you want, Will Smith can make anything entertaining.

How M Night Shamalamadingdong roped him into a starring role is beyond me though.

I don't think even Will Smith can save an M. Night Shyamalan movie. They're just......TERRIBLE.

M Night's work hasn't declined, it slammed down into Earth with the force of the asteroid/comet that created the Chixalub (sp) crater in the Yucatan peninsula.

Lady in the Water was a piece of garbage. Absolute garbage.

The Happening's plot looked like it was put together by two stoners talking about how like, the weed man, like the weeds, if like the weed and Earth didn't like us like, man, it could kill us, so we'd need to like get out in touch with mother Earth so....

His last four have just pulled major vacuum.
