This game was on Shotty - heres why

:hammer:Must win in game 2 sounds absurd...until you realize it's a divisional game...and there is only 6 of those. Lose then week...then the rest of your division games become must wins if you have any hope of winning the division.
Biggest issue is the Giants just gave Commanders a blue print to beat the Cowboys. GP3 and CD were not a diff maker and we all saw the defense its in shambles and now the Cowboys are facing a true highly mobile QB.

The team was clearly not ready for prime time. That is Schottenheimer's fault.

But lower your expectations for Schottenheimer. He is a 3rd or 4th tier coach that no one other than Dallas would hire. I don't think he has it in him to get this team or any team to the Super Bowl. His only qualification for the job is he does not demand Jerry gives him full control of the team.

Shotty is coaching this team like they are the LA Rams or the Seahawks. Coaching like he has a seasoned veteran staff, season veteran players....when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. Blame this on Shotty in experience as HC. Why

1) Not playing the starters in preseason - simply thinking like he is coaching the LA Rams. When in fact, this team had so many changes on defense, so many changes on the OL that the team has NO time to jell in a game time situation.
2) Coaching....the Cowboys have young in experienced coaches who have never been in there position before...think no experience as HC, DC, etc or are new on the team...Make no bones about it, the Cowboys got OUT COACHED.
3) Not understanding the problem or no how to solve the problem.....How do they FIX the communication on Defense....we saw the same defense again as we did in 2025...Did Shotty fix the problem...NO..does he even understand what the problem IS... or lack the experience to no how to FIX IT.

its called coaching INEXPERIENCE....and we saw it first hand last night....same Shotty team..same results.
Yup. He's likable, but he's a likable 7-10-1 coach right now.

Shottenheimer is not a serious coach. Never was. Never will be.

Does Jerry have the patience to let a young inexperienced coaching staff gain experience to be competitive..or does Jerry Jones jsut pull a Mike McCathy and shut down all the spending and player acquisition....
Schotty isn’t young or inexperienced. He just sucks.

Not true......this game clearly showed our D wasn't able to compete, Dart hardly received any pressure, secondary coverage made Nabors/Likely Player of the Week candidates, third down conversation rate too high, time of possession was a glaring disadvantage, got beat physically and punk'd on a few occasions........Basically, if this staff is in the offense's face or Dak before addressing the defensive side............we in BIG trouble.
Dak did have a poorly timed bad INT that led to 7 points before half by the Gnats, but no, Dak wasn't solely to blame for the loss. As usual, the whole team just seem uninspired and unprepared.

They're not the juggernaut that Jerry and the sunshine crew have been pumping up our butt's since March.

Was it Shotty's fault that salad only recovered 1 is the 4 fumbles they caused and dropped an interception?

Was it his fault Pickens dropped a touchdown pass and other key catches that would have made a difference?

Was it his fault Dak couldn't throw a ball out of bounds?

No teams played their starters in preseason. That's not a thing anymore with 17-game seasons. Soon to be 18.

Give it more than a week. CP needs some time clearly.

Agree that Dak had a poorly timed bad INT, but we had some poorly timed drops too, poorly timed missed blocks (Steele)......we just don't need to overlook or discard the poorly timed play on D, that was constant and worsening throughout the game and more glaring and in need of addressing immediately.

Jerry has had the patience to lose for three decades. If Schotty is complacent enough, he could be here as long as Garrett.
