maybe we can negotiate something less- or do a trade and sign. If he can give us good FS play - without us having to use a high pick- then its worth it.

How about trading Peterman, Fasano or Al Johnson for Babineaux? Sound better?

This is why having Jerry Jones back at the helm worries me.

So a S like Eirc Weddle is worth more?

Just to throw something out there..............

Scott Wright: Who was your favorite college or pro team growing up? Did you have a favorite player?

Eric Weddle: My favorite college team was UCLA. Favorite pro team is the Dallas Cowboys. My favorite player was Emmitt Smith growing up, I wanted to be just like him.

the second round tender only means if a team signs him and the Seahawks refuse to match the offer they get a second round pick.

Teams sign players to higher tenders then they are worth so teams that are their divisional rivals (or a team they don't like) won't sign the player / or if the team wants the player that bad the Seahawks will atleast get a second round pick for it. If he was worth lets say a 4th round pick and the 49ers wanted him all the niners would have to do is put some crazy clause into the contract and the seahawks couldn't match it and he goes to the niners, but now that they have him on a second round tender they can trade him to another team for the forth they wanted for him that's not a rival team, or just plain keep him.

The Cowboys and Chiefs reportedly have a "strong interest" in restricted free agent defensive back Jordan Babineaux.
Seattle would get a second-round pick if Babineaux inks an offer sheet.

OMG!!!

A 2nd rounder for him would be just dumb.:banghead:
