This is a different team

I tried telling folks who said this team sucks and is going 6-11. Team can’t run the ball, defense can’t stop the run and Dak sucks.

The loss sucks. They had em. Fortunately, this is the first game of the season and these bright spots have me feeling good going forward:

* Dak looks very mobile, strong and aware.
* The run game looked so much improved from recent years.
* The offensive line dominated IMHO. A few mental mistakes, but they didn’t get out physicaled.
* The defense actually made in game adjustments and clamped down on the run. Barkley only had 60 yards. Hurts was awesome on the ground though.
* The team overall looked prepared. First game of the season you know they’re going to be fired up and they were. But they played within themselves, not like that yahoo Carter, and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
* I saw toughness from the team. Dak making that TD saving tackle after the fumble is going to pay dividends within themselves locker room.
* Only 4 penalties.

Probably won’t shut up all the habitual critics but maybe some.

Yes, a different team but the QB is the same whether you want to see it or not, on the last play Pickens was in the middle of the field one on one, but he preferred to throw to CeeDee who was dropping passes and had 2 men. It's the same as always, the evidence that the main problem is Dak-ancer, his bad decisions, and not knowing how to solve plays under pressure, that hasn't changed and it won't change until Dak-ancer leaves, it's going to be more of the same but now without Micah.

It is wayyyy too early to say this is a different team; we need to see things over the first 5 or 6 games. As the media has said all day today, the loss is very encouraging, and many are shocked by how the team competed. What looks different:

- Dak had a terrific game, outside of a few missteps, but that happens to every QB in the league. He looks lean,, faster and finally throwing with some zip on the ball
- Everybody on here wanted Eberflus fired after the 1st half, but he did something we haven't seen from DC's on this team, he made adjustments
- Lamb cost us the game, and he bit the bullet for this. This happens to the best of them
- Pickens was underutilized
- The running game looks good, and the OL was very, very encouraging
- Kneedland looked amazing
- The Iggles have issues on the back end, and I expect their GM to address this next week, if not sooner
- All the talk about Micah winning the game for us if we didn't trade him? Perhaps, but teams were able to scheme around him, and now having 2-3 guys who can play make plays makes this a tougher task

Enough of the positive: this is still a team that finds ways to lose, and if something bad can happen, it does/will

Lamb is the biggest piece of crap. Irvin would have never dropped those throw. No heart. You young cowboys fats have no idea. God bless you. Geeze . I'm so thankful that I saw those super both wins.
Bro, copied and pasted this same comment on like 5 threads.

all JJ did was put up a new poster on the wall and said "NEW COWBOYS"

same ol mistakes, same dumb team. some good things, YES, enough to make a difference this season? no. Are their going to be changes to the future, depends on JJ.

No, it’s a different team. It’s right in front of your face. That looked like a team capable of making a run. Haven’t seen an effective running game like that in a few years. Only 4 penalties. That’s different. Held Barkley to 60 yards. That’s different. Started the game hot. That’s different. Motion offense. That’s different. Aggressive but sound play calling. That’s different. Effective clock management. That’s different. The key will be if they can continue this type of play going forward. But so far at least, they are different.

Indeed, but this was just 1 game. I think the Iggles were caught off guard by everything you mentioned, and our HC was prepared as we have not seen for years with this team. Definitely encouraging on our end, and definitely discouraging for the Iggles. The drops for Lamb dont bother me too much, and I expect him to off vs the NYG

he would be telling you how awesome we were when we beat the Giants and Jets that one year. Its nothing different. happy fans pump, the rest of us accept what the franchise is.

The thing is, this game felt different in every aspect, let alone considering the 2 games they killed us last year. I, as a fan of any Sports team, temper highs and lows, and to be honest, if we crap the bed against the NYG next week, will anybody be shocked based upon historical data? I come away very encouraged from the on-field product, but I have also seen this before sooooooooo.....

its a new season, always FEELS different. Different feels , same results.

its taking some posters 30 years to realize what some saw in one. ITs not a great thing to admit , but its life. JJ is not putting down a football team, he tells fans that every day for 30 years.

This is why I temper my excitement. I have read this book for the last 30 years, and although many fans want to jump on the JJ bandwagon train, I'd like to see a long stretch before I buy my ticket. The direction seems to be pointing up, but I, for one will wait a month or so and then judge

Joined yesterday to post crap like this.

Get real.
The refs kept Dallas in the game from the opening kickoff; first by getting rid of Philadelphia's best defensive lineman, then with timely penalties that helped the Cowboys score.
Anyone who wants to believe different can, but it was clear that Philadelphia was coasting on offense, and Dallas put up points with the help of the refs.
But in the second half, the Eagles shut down the Cowboys and coasted to a win that kept the game within the betting lines and kept fans watching until the end.
I agree that Dak looked better early, but as the game wore on, the Eagles kept him in check.
I still think this Cowboys team gets four wins, tops.
Do you really think it was a coincidence that Jalen Carter went out with the Cowboys missing Micah?
I don't. And with the penalties that the Cowboys were getting, it kept the game close.
Without those penalties the Cowboys score 10 points, max.
Bottom line: it was a typical game for a national audience that kept fans watching and advertisers and gambling sites happy.

let me go on record saying "fair and i agree"

Our fans. Arguing against anything positive about the game. Anything. Sad how some humans behave.
Now, this I agree with, so no more PM's otherwise....mirror, mirror on the wall.

They showed up to play that's for sure. But lets see them smoke NY and The bears and beat GB then I'll see a different team. McCarthy seemed to never have them ready for nondivision good teams on the road.
