This is a different team

by different .... you mean choking away games. not clutch, coming up small?

yea. this outcome was way different
You negatively attack with 'smartie' stats....where are they exactly now?

Omg man…..they played well but didn’t win the game. It was better than I hoped for and I am not a negative person about them but it was actually more of the same when you take step a back. Not from an x&o stand point but results stand point and organizational standpoint - always have one side of the ball vastly ahead of the other and never a full sound solid team on all sides of ball.

They looked like a decent team who at moment can play with the better teams in the league but have a series or a quarter or a player that holds them back. Always a mistake, a penalty, a defensive lapse from winning these type of games against quality opponents.

Always the bridesmaids never the bride.

We get it - you're happy with a loss. Bravo.
You got a mouse in your pocket.

No 4th quarter production after an hour delay and the starters first role at competing for a whole game. They showed up and the defense in this game, completed on the level of their opponent.

A fumble should have put them up with what could have brought the Cowboys fully back into the game.

The man didn't say that fact to any one. YOU are always mumbling and trying to insult. Four points from last year's Super Bowl Team.

Dallas had 109 rushing against a strong team and the Eagles only had 120+ yards given up to the leagues top runner and their quarterback. Two touchdowns by him was no one bird dogging his moves early.

I tried telling folks who said this team sucks and is going 6-11. Team can’t run the ball, defense can’t stop the run and Dak sucks.

The loss sucks. They had em. Fortunately, this is the first game of the season and these bright spots have me feeling good going forward:

* Dak looks very mobile, strong and aware.
* The run game looked so much improved from recent years.
* The offensive line dominated IMHO. A few mental mistakes, but they didn’t get out physicaled.
* The defense actually made in game adjustments and clamped down on the run. Barkley only had 60 yards. Hurts was awesome on the ground though.
* The team overall looked prepared. First game of the season you know they’re going to be fired up and they were. But they played within themselves, not like that yahoo Carter, and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
* I saw toughness from the team. Dak making that TD saving tackle after the fumble is going to pay dividends within themselves locker room.
* Only 4 penalties.

Probably won’t shut up all the habitual critics but maybe some.

Great post, bro. Are you coming back to Texas?

Like what I saw so far.

Just avoid the big mistakes and they can be successful. Cannot fumble in the red zone and have multiple drops on third down to either extend drives or score 7 points. Penalties in the red zone are also drive enders.

Different team? I saw a team that gave up an 80+ yard drive in a minute and a half just before the half, after having taken the lead. I saw a team that scored 0 2nd half points. I saw a team turn the ball over at a critical juncture, while forcing zero turnovers. I saw players fail in the clutch. In other words, the same as it always was.

0-1

At least Cooper Rush wins when he puts up a stat line like Dak had last night.

I do agree some here. This didn't look like a typical Cowboys meltdown and we can build off this.

I want to caution everyone though that this is a bit of fools good tonight and to not let ourselves get overly excited. I believe this is more of a telling sign that the eagles will struggle this year because of their defense and will probably lose several games because of their D.

We have the most clutch kicker and special teams unit in the NFL. Without them, we scored 2 touchdowns with the eagles giving us a TON of penalty yards and good field positions.

Main takeaway from me is the mostly avoided stupid penalties. It was nice for us to the the more disciplined team for a change

I want to see some consistency, but this was a good start. I hope Jerry will leave the coaching staff alone and let them do their jobs. I have my doubts. Give Shott some authority and leave him alone. I want to see players held accountable, like Jimmy used to do. The fumble and dropped passes were unacceptable.

Only losers celebrate losses.

Losers lose. They lost. Nothing more needs to be said.
Loser repeated 3 times ... what a hellatious man.

Even with the challenging weather, as Prescott escaped pressure multiple times. His most miraculous play was taking down Quinyon Mitchell -- the first tackle of Dak’s career -- after Miles Sanders' fumble, possibly saving a touchdown. But the Cowboys had every chance to win the game in Brian Schottenheimer’s debut, and three big fourth-quarter drops from Lamb were drive killers. The first drop on third-and-10 ended a drive; the second one prevented a 40-yard completion into the red zone with less than three minutes left. The final play was a tough one, but Lamb separated downfield and couldn’t haul in Prescott’s fourth-down heave, effectively ending the game. The team hung tougher than many expected but came up short on offense.

How did they have them? Both teams had plays that could've gone either way, and it just so happens that the Eagles have more clutch players than the Cowboys. We saw in the very first game how much Micah is missed, and let's not ignore the Eagles losing their pro bowl O-lineman which helped the Cowboys finally be able to get some pressure. Sorry but we see posts like yours every year, where you highlight all the positive stuff but ignore the negative stuff that always shows up during the season. As for this game it boils down to CeeDee choking and not helping Pickens.
Quit whining about Parsons. He’s gone. Get over it.
