Seems as if a lot of "prior generation" DE hit the wall this year........Matthews fell off hard, Jared Allen, Ware, maybe others I'm missing----its the natural cycle of the highest level of sports........just the way it is.

Hatcher---never been the same after his neck tweak--maybe OLines adjusted to some degree, but his comment about the next contract a few weeks ago sits in the back of my mind..........and his I'd say.

Both have had their times..

It is just time to really blow this team up.. It is done. Window has been shut. Curtains are pulled.

It needs to happen from at least the HC on down..

I know , this won't happen. But, it sure would be nice. This present coaching staff and team are going to be headed no where for some time.

good teams do this BEFORE they pay them.

Ware shoulda been traded BEFORE his last deal was given to him.

you have to get rid of older players while they are still hot.
Yea, you trade the best pass rusher in the league when he's 27 years old. Good call.

Hatcher has actually played himself into a more affordable cap-friendly deal. He's now getting doubled-teamed and he's dropped off.

Walker was on a 3-13 team during his last season in Dallas, and they went 1-15 the next year. They were in complete rebuild mode. The Cowboys, like it or not, have been on the brink for like 8 years. It would have made no sense to trade Ware at the time.

the brink of what? theyve been on something...but few would call it the brink...unless you mean brink of rebuild mode.

They've had a chance to win and get in the playoffs in each of the last 2 seasons and they went 11-5 and won a playoff game in 2009. 2010 was a bust - in part because of the injury to Tony - but other than that, this team has been close to being a contender. When you're in that position, you don't just trade away one of your best players.

That would be akin to the 9ers trading Patrick Willis, and it wouldn't make any sense.

Ware - One assisted tackle

Hatcher - Didn't even make the box score - no tackles, no assists.

I will be glad to see Hatcher roll down the road. Not worth the trouble or any cash.

Ware is a shell of his former self - He is one of my all time favorites, class act, solid guy, but the rigors of the NFL have taken their toll. We need to let him go too so we will not be on the hook for large sums of money and getting no productivity.

Good teams make calls like this even though they are tough - that's what separates the good teams from the poor to mediocre teams.

I think Hatcher, in particular, is making business decisions since his injury earlier in the year. Can you blame him? Ware is still not 100% regardless of his talk. Hatcher had one tackle against Chicago. Where has the pro-bowler disappeared to? He likely knows that to get injured this late in the season for basically nothing might not be the smartest thing for the big pay-day that looms. It might be reaching the point of every man for himself in Dallas, especially considering Garrett's outing of Romo. "The rattlesnakes are starting to commit suicide..."

Hopefully, he understands his situation enough to re-sign. Somehow, I don't think so, though.

it would be like the 9ers trading frank gore last season, which they should have.

you have got to know when to make the move, and after theyre over the hill isnt the time.

Frank Gore is a 30 year old running back, whose flirting with being top 10 at his position, with a lot of tread on the tires, 2 capable backups behind him, playing on a team with a dynamic QB who is the focal point of the offense.

DeMarcus Ware was the best pass rusher on the Cowboys at the time he was resigned, in his prime, and irreplaceable.

Carr being the veteran he is he is trying to do too much. If you were him would you trust everyone around you? Nope. So, it keeps him off balance and he cant just do his job. Thinking any second you need to go help a safety or LB with a runner is gonna put you out of place on your own guy.

Carr gets smoked in man coverage with not a hint of 'helping' anyone. If this was true explain the first to second half of yesterdays game.So he took it upon himself to be the defensive hero for the ENTIRE second half? Carr isn't helping anybody. He sucks in Kiffins defense. As does most of the secondary.

They're embarrasing to watch. Like the chick at karoke night that 'thinks' she's Whitney Houston. Make it stop!!!!!!!

I don't even know that I believe it's all age. If you watch him out there, he's just playing like an idiot. He runs himself out of plays regularly, doesn't attempt any counter moves, doesn't use his hands, it's like he forgot how to rush the passer.

9 times out of 10, he just runs wide and tries to beat his man around the corner which obviously isn't working. He's pathetic to watch right now, completely useless on the field.

Heaven forbid he contain.

But HAtcher is awesome, everyone on here told me so. And Carter was going to be awesome and Garrett is going to be a great HC. How can so many posters be wrong. (myself included)
