Move Awuize to FS were he played in college. The Cowboys wasted yeas with Byron Jones at S. Why are you making a Safety a CB. The natural progression is CB to S not the opposite. In one move you increase you ball skills and depth at the S position.

Trade for Amari Cooper (first check medical on foot) and Dwane Parker (first see if the Dolphins are going to just release him) and start them at WR. Move Austin to the slot when in 3 WR and only play Beasley in 4 WR sets. At least you would have 2 WR that actual were the 1st option at WR in their career. The both also are young and have had success as a 1st option.

Go ahead and just play the basketball player at TE. It worked out for Antonio Gates who had not played a down of college football. Don't tell me someone 6-6 292 can't not block we they have set screens, posted up for the last 10 years, and is the leading rebounder in Baylor Basketball history. Jay Novacek was not signed by the Cowboys to be Aikman's security blanket because he was a blocker.

Run more RPO, roll out, and pocket rest plays and let Dak be what he is. Dak is a passer runner. He is not a thrower passer. Dak is accurate outside the pocket. Outside the pocket means he runs outside the pocket then throws. Watching Dak play in and the Cowboys trying to run the offense that Romo ran (after 3 years of learning on the bench), is excruciatingly horrible to watch.

Run Zeke and pass the ball to Zeke. Emmitt averaged +50 reception his Super Bowl years at RB. Zeke is a better receiver and faster. When in the red zone run the ball with Zeke. When inside the 10 yard line bring in a FB and run the ball with Zeke. I am sure the Cowboys have a horrible pass run ratio in the red zone.

You traded for a FB. Use the FB.

Move on from Irving, Gregory, and Lee. Unreliable and unavailable. If they come through great. But all this waiting for unreliable and unavailable players has got to stop. We need reliable and available players.

Well Dr. Von Braun..

I see your chalkboard and all the connecting dots.

But I don't see us trading for your WRs as it will cost us draft picks we cannot lose.

Those picks will become more valuable as we drop in the standings.

If the Cowboys clean house after this year..the new HC is going to want those assets to start the rebuild.

I think instead, the team will stick with what they are doing and see who is not going to fit next year.

Players will be playing for jobs as soon as we hit 5 losses.

That is right around the corner.

BTW..

E=MCS squared

Elliott equals Major Cap Space squared in 2019.

D/J =0

Dez fired by Jerrah means no offense.

Next lesson comes Sunday.

Just say no to Amari Cooper, he drops a lot of passes, a lot of passes. He's dropped several catchable passes this year. Last year he led the league in drop percent at 19.23% For comparison Dez was second and his drop percent was 12.50% Amari will have the occasional big game then disappear for many others.

Amari Cooper's been sucking all year. Almost as bad as our WRs. How do I know? He's on my FF. He had 1 catch on 1 target last week. And as someone posted above, he drops a lot of passes.

Why would you take the most reliable receiver, Beasley, off the field for Austin?

You do not see it because you are use to the Jerry Jones Dumbo GM moves over the last 20 years. Its not your fault. You have not seen what Cowboys did when they had a Owner, GM, and Head Coach that was not the same person.

Cowboys traded for Lance Alworth, and Mike Ditka the year before. Why? They had a passer runner at QB and needed to make life easy with security blankets on the field for the 1971 season.

Cowboys signed plan B free agency Jay Novacek and Bob Awalt TE for Troy and Steve security blanket (Boys already had Irvin and Martin). But the move beside the trade for Haley in 1992 was the trade for safety Thomas Everett. People forget that James Washington was not the starter, Bill Bates was to slow, and Woodson was too young and a convert from LB at ASU. The Cowboys needed a starting FS and went out an got one.

Parcells immediately brought in Keyshawn Johnson and Terry Gleen when the Antonio Bryant experiment failed. He also had a FA veteran TE to fill in until Witten came of age.

Jerry released Dez Bryant without a getting a WR to replace him. Sammy Watkins and Allen Robinson signed with other teams. That means you can not cut Dez. Dez or a player like Dez is one of the two factors missing in the passing game. Dez could not be covered one on one by 95% of the CB in the NFL. Even his last 3 injury years he was only shut down by elite CBs. Because Defenses don't respect our outside WRs, they just load the box and know they can cover until the pass rush gets Dak. So you are right no Dez no Offense. No Witten no confidence to take a down field shot because you can't get it to the TE if you fail. That's why I say just play the basketball player who can obviously get open.

Why would you take the most reliable receiver, Beasley, off the field for Austin?
Beasley is effective in 4 WR sets anyway. On 3 WR they double him dropping a LB to help. Austin on 3WR will scare the Defense when he motions (could be screen or run). This would allow him to get open with better looks on routes. Beasley is not the former RB threat Austin is on the field. Its basically the Wing Back/Wing T formation offense that Eddie Robinson had a Grambling with Charlie Joiner, Sammy White, Jake Reed, Nate Singleton, etc. Their is no new innovation in football RPO, Shotgun, Jet sweep is the Wing T. Austin is more of a threat in WR sets. You do have a thrower passer at QB. So you better do what he is good at movement and play action. That's just my opinion.

There is a reason passer runners or whatever you want to call them are backups in this league...

I said it last year when guys were bashing Dez for drops in the same sentence as saying they should replace him with Cooper they clearly are like Jerry Jones as a GM.. not in those exact words, but you get the point

Hmmm..

been attending this team's games since 1965.

Had season tickets until this week.

Just sold our tickets to a ticket broker because will not go watch this stuff and pay Jerrah for this.

Going to miss going to the Thanksgiving game but will get indigestion like the rest of us at home.

But great post..I feel your pain.

Thanx for the memories.

The hell? Why on earth would you move Awuzie to safety just so you can bury his career like you almost did Byron's? What sense does that make?

JG is an idiot ... nuff said ... other than Richard there is not 1 coach worth keeping.

Why is there even mention of Awuzie going to safety? He was our best CB last year and he's been far from bad this year.

When you play a 4-3 D especially Tampa 2 your Safety positions especially FS become important for a playmaker. Waters and Harris, Downs and Thurman, Everett, Woodson and Washington, Woodson and Williams. Not so much for a 3-4 Defense because man coverage by the safeties is more important. That is why Roy Williams complained that the change from 3-4 to 4-3 was career over for him in Dallas. Awuzie has more playmaking impact as a FS than at CB. He could become what we are going to get from Earl Thomas. He would be younger and much cheaper. So it even makes fiscal business sense.

I feel for you man, never been more down on this team since I started following them in 1969.
