Talk to me about signing other free agents after we sign Zeke.

We don't have to do anything with Zeke. We have the 5th year option next year and then we can tag him for 1 year. After that, he will be pushing
28 and on the downhill side of RB production. Teams rarely offer second contracts to RB's these days and for good reason. Dallas is just going to
run Zeke into the ground and then cast him aside for the next one.

I'm ready for the dynamic duo of Chris Conte and Jeff Heath as our safeties.

We're definitely going to get a safety. It's just not going to be any of those. We'll all be googling the guys name...

Followed by 8 threads about how much potential said safety has including 432 posts that only say “championship.” 4 of the 8 threads created by interns on the Cowboys PR team on their fake accounts.

At least one post will be a meta-analysis citing his unique measurables which will prominently feature his time in the cone drill.

Safety will go on IR in training camp, then be suspended for having:

two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.

If there ever was a year to get a good safety in free agency it's this year

If Dallas passes up on Earl, Stewart, Honey Badger, Weddle, Vaccaro, Landon Collins, Haha Dix....and sticks with Heath they deserve to lose

It comes down to contract demands. I'm not overpaying for any of those guys just to say I signed someone.

Great post!!!
Hahaha!
You truly have your finger on the pulse of both the Cowboys free agent aspirations and also this forum.

..... however you did forget the adrenochrome....

Earl wants too much money, Weddle is an aging vet wanting one last contract but I’d take a serious look at the Honey Badger. Maybe even Vaccaro.

I don't think we take Vaccaro, we could of had him last season. unless this year they're truly sick of looking ta Heath by this point.

Why?

What are you going to do with that money?....thats what's it for, to spend on a better team

Were our safeties so bad that we need to over spend for a FA one? I personally do not think so.

Very average is what I see

Thomas is a ballhawk....beyond Jordan Lewis I dont think anyone in that secondary can catch a ball

We’ll grab whatever S is available week three of FA after most of the decent ones are snatched up.

You think I am joking.
I agree, and I'm perfectly fine with it.
There will be many good starting safeties at that point, but will be at a discount compared to the ones immediately scooped up.

But as a unit we were top 5 in defense. Safety I feel is a need but not so much that you go out and sign someone beyond their worth. Especially one that is coming off of a season ending injury.
