What could have been a good post was destroyed in a few words with your typical BS: "Despite all the haters here"

You can't help but take shots at people and belittle them in any and every post you make.

This is the year!
This is the year!
This is the year!
This is the year!

Hahahahahahs.

That's probably the most funniest, while at the same time most depressing, thing I've ever seen. I can't stop laughing and sobbing.

Dare to dream....

There was a 20 year interval in Cowboys history when reaching the NFC championship game was the expectation.

They accomplished that 12 times during that 20 year period and only missed the playoffs twice.
Tom Landry won 2 Super Bowls in 29 years. There was no free agency and the players were held hostage until their team didn't want them anymore.

So what you are saying is . . . No More Excuses. . . If the Cowboys do not advance to the Championship Game . . . IT IS DAK'S FAULT

I will hold you to it. . . But I know you will just find another escape goat
So, are you rooting for message board victory and “I told you so’s” or do you actually want the Cowboys to win?

For some of you guys, I really think it’s a toss up.

For me?

I root for a Super Bowl because I want our team to win, or because I want to beat you.

You can take pleasure in our teams losses because you still get to say “I win!”

Nah Brah . . . not even close . . . I just do not want to hear the usual excuses for Dak. The Op usually does this. Now He is saying all the pieces are in place for Dak

I know He is full of optimism now. All I am saying is keep that same Energy when Dak does what Dak does . . . And do not go around Blaming everyone else

I think I’m more in the camp of “This has to be the year for at least a deep run”. Otherwise, MM is in trouble, Dak is in trouble, lots of FAs walking out, and a mini reset happens yet again

That was true for every team so I don't understand how you considered this some type of advantage for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys were an expansion team in 1960. Not only did they receive no additional draft capital like recent expansion teams, they did not even get to participate in that year's draft. They slowly built their team for 7 years before their first NFL championship game. During their 20 consecutive winning seasons, two different rival leagues formed that signed active Cowboys. The first one took Calvin Hill, Duane Thomas, Jean Fugett, and Danny White.

"Hostage" is a little too strong. The NFL didn't owe them the opportunity to play professional football. It's not a right.

Besides, there were several other minor leagues if they wanted to play somewhere else. However, they chose the NFL and those were the rules at the time. I'm not going to defend it, although I miss the enjoyment of knowing that player is one of my guys. These days, the guys I loved today may be the guys I hate tomorrow.

Of course, I don't mean real love/hate, only in the sense of rooting for them as a fan.

Landry won 2 Super Bowls in 29 years, that is true. He also won 5 conference championship games and took the team to the playoffs in 19 of those 29 years for a total of 36 playoff games.

As much as I admire the man and legend it is true that Tom Landry's Cowboys under achieved. Hear me out... Landry's teams should have won at least 4 and as many as 6 Super Bowls between 1966 and 1982. Change just one play in the Ice Bowl, change one play in SB 5, no phantom PI in SB 10, no "Catch" vs SF. All of those go our way and just imagine.

Landry isn't alone here. Madden's Raiders under achieved as far as winning Super Bowls too. As did Bud Grant's Vikings.

Even before the draft, I believe this is the year the Cowboys reach at least the NFC Championship game. The defense was already good and we resigned both Wilson and LVE and added Gilmore. Bland is going to be even better with another year under his belt. They‘ll probably add some help in the the draft. The offense is going to be better with Cooks and the release of Zeke. Loved Zeke, but he was a progress stopper and it was time for him to go. Hell, a 6th round RB could probably out produce Zeke sad to say. The only receiver the Cowboys had in 2022 was CeeDee and he was great. But there was no one else. Gallup was mentally hobbled coming off injury. Noah Brown? Give me a break. Shultz was solid but there are better TE’s to be had. The passing game suffered from only having 1 legitimate WR. The rest could not consistently get open.

But the BIGGEST reason I believe this is the year is MM. He finally jettisoned the anchor in KM. Moore is a young coach who was trying to build his resume. And he did so at the expense of the team. I’m sure he thought that having an explosive offense would help the team reach the SB. But it didn’t pan out that way because ball control in the NFL is more important than scoring 30 every game.

The Cowboys have finished 12-5 the last 2 years. Despite all the haters here, this team is on the cusp. You can hate on Dak, but he’s not the issue. When you only have 1 WR you’re going to struggle. When you don’t have a running game you’re going to struggle. When you’re defense can’t stop the run you’re going to struggle.

So like every year, yes every year, I predict this is the year for the Cowboys. Even before the draft I feel they’ve done enough. So you haters go ahead and crap on this thread. I’ll see you in January 2024.

I certainly hope you're right. I'd love to see us finally reach that level. I too think we can.

You are the definition of hating: he states his opinion based on real proof on the field and you bring out the hate. And he’s most likely right. Try to elevate.

Wow the lengths some go to prop up the clown show.

Great coaches, Front Offices and the rest get it done. The clown show does not.

Too bad you are wrong. Again. I hate on Dak myself. Has nothing to do w hating him.
It’s just a way to clap back at criticism and critics. Society will always be full of demonstrative and unjust criticism (especially to celebrities). And hater and hating was created for those that need to cry about the criticism.

Must have a good draft. Have to land a DT, RB and TE that can impact the team year one. Must have a healthy OL. You get those and I agree it should be a good year.
