Even before the draft, I believe this is the year the Cowboys reach at least the NFC Championship game. The defense was already good and we resigned both Wilson and LVE and added Gilmore. Bland is going to be even better with another year under his belt. They‘ll probably add some help in the the draft. The offense is going to be better with Cooks and the release of Zeke. Loved Zeke, but he was a progress stopper and it was time for him to go. Hell, a 6th round RB could probably out produce Zeke sad to say. The only receiver the Cowboys had in 2022 was CeeDee and he was great. But there was no one else. Gallup was mentally hobbled coming off injury. Noah Brown? Give me a break. Shultz was solid but there are better TE’s to be had. The passing game suffered from only having 1 legitimate WR. The rest could not consistently get open.

But the BIGGEST reason I believe this is the year is MM. He finally jettisoned the anchor in KM. Moore is a young coach who was trying to build his resume. And he did so at the expense of the team. I’m sure he thought that having an explosive offense would help the team reach the SB. But it didn’t pan out that way because ball control in the NFL is more important than scoring 30 every game.

The Cowboys have finished 12-5 the last 2 years. Despite all the haters here, this team is on the cusp. You can hate on Dak, but he’s not the issue. When you only have 1 WR you’re going to struggle. When you don’t have a running game you’re going to struggle. When you’re defense can’t stop the run you’re going to struggle.

So like every year, yes every year, I predict this is the year for the Cowboys. Even before the draft I feel they’ve done enough. So you haters go ahead and crap on this thread. I’ll see you in January 2024.
now I am depressed since you are always wrong

Had my hopes up since Romo.

I'll keep watching. Can't quit.

I have 2 daughters trying out for drill team this week. This hater v lover stuff ain’t got nothing on my stress level this week.
You have my sympathy. My wife and I experienced what you are going through for the first time with our daughter nineteen years ago. My daughter faced the same thing for the first time with HER daughter last week. Life really is a circle.

Thanks! My oldest went through it starting 2 years ago, made JV but barely missed Varsity after..2 points. Now my 8th grader going into Frosh is in the fray. So both going at it again for Varsity. Stomach in knots all week. They go a year prepping and its up to judges on one day...just feel bad for all involved stress wise.

I've said that the past 27 seasons and I've been wrong.

No, a hater is someone who does nothing but criticize every thread, every post, every day
Seems like you would hand out high fives and go wild for participating.

E.G., if you finished 8th out of 8 in a 100 metre sprint you would do a lap of honour rather than take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask why you finished last, where you could improve and to not be content to simply repeat the same results again and again.

The realists want to win a Superbowl not merely participate during the regular season.

optimism? I call it blind faith
I can go with blind faith too. Just was trying to be nice. We've all been there.....Secret Sauce, Hot Boyz, etc. We've "won" more offseason "championships" and lofty expectations before the wheels came off, than I can remember.

Didn't want to remind the heartbreak:

What did Zeke do in the Niners game with a golden opportunity to carry the team with Pollard injured?

Do you remember his performance?

10 carries for 26 yards, no TD's and a long run of 5 yards. LOL

So Dak is supposed to carry the offense with ZERO run game and the best D in the NFL flooding the passing lanes in nickel with no threat from the run?

Do you recall our all pro kicker missing his first extra point? 7th miss in a row? So we couldnt count on the kicker either. Against the #1 D in the NFL on the road.
The supposed missed extra point was a blocked extra point, which is different but you run with the fake news.

As for Dak, yes he is supposed to carry the team as that is what he should have done instead of throwing the game away.

Blocked, missed, not a big difference. How many kickers get their extra point blocked? Either way we lost confidence in trying a FG and that was one of the reasons we went for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG. Which helped lead to a pick forcing the ball.

As far as Dak, your not qualified to talk about Dak.

What are you qualified in?

Do you know him on a personnel level? How come we can't talk about our QB?
