It sort of hit me when I was watching the replay this evening of the first Eagles game last year.

Wade's first year was Bill Parcells' team. It was successful because Wade removed the choking collar Bill had on that team and allowed their talent to take over. It was the first time we had heard of "team" and "family" in a long time around these parts, from Wade, not the players. It resulted in a 13-3 run, and Wade was largely praised for winning with basically a Parcells built team run differently. But since the beginning, Wade had preached "accountability". That team didn't need to be accountable, because they didn't make many mistakes during that great run.

So they got cocky the next year, and largely were unsuccessful because they no longer had Parcells' iron fist to keep it in line, and they had allowed themselves to ignore Wade's philosophy of accountability. Wade trusts his players to do the right thing, and that team didn't hear his message. It resulted in 9-7 and no playoffs.

Wake up call.

This is the first year we've heard things like "It was on me." and accountability. It's the first time we've heard "team" more than "me" and something like Romo saying "This team's core is to solid to be broken." This team realized that they needed to buy into Wade's style and philosophy. Plus, Wade has his players sprinkled in. And his defense.

And it's working.

And I'm loving the ride.

but .... that's not possible....'cause everybody knows Wade is a horrible HC...so you must be mistaken.

Just to echo your point. You here the same sentiment whenever the players are interviewed, particularly the team leaders.

Through in through this is Wade's team, they haters will not like to hear that one bit. :)

So far I counted only one hater in this thread. All that hate must make you tired because they are not early risers, lol.

And that inspires confidence in you??

I have been very critical of Wade myself, but I do like what I see from this team right now. I hope he proves many of us wrong succeedes here.

I'm happy about our 5-2 start, but remember, we started 4-1 last year also.

Let's see how things pan out the remainder of the year before singing any praises.

this

if the eagles win on Sunday night the theme of this thread will undergo a drastic change

That makes me wonder how smooth the transition will be when Wade leaves and Garrett takes over.
But a good thing is that Garrett is already here and I would think he picks an OC that follows his mentality; it's the DC that could be a rough transition imo. Hopefully he just continues to call and run the offense.

I have really been wanting wade to succeed and I hope he does.

If he succeeds, the Cowboys succeeds. If the Cowboys succeed, then I am happy.

As much as people make fun of his look on the sideline and his fist pump, there is nothing more i would love to see than for him to do his fist pump after playoff wins!

This is a great point. Any minute now, Romo could get hurt and we'll be forced to play Brad Johnson.

Or Bruce Read's ST will give up another big play or get the kicker/punter knocked out of the game. Oh, wait ......

I won't argue that that they got cocky, however the main reason we tanked last year was because of all the injuries that started piling up.

Very good post, CowboyMike

I still dont understand why people Bash Wade, when he isnt the Only head coach. Jason Garrett is co-head coach who should get some of the blame if not all of it...
And it's working.
