Drew Bledsoe 45 29 287 64.4 6.4 2 4.4 0 0.0 40 4/24 97.2
The fact that Bledsoe threw for a 64% clip we only went up top about 3 or 4 times in the whole pre-season. We have just added the anti 8 man front in Price. Coupled with Glenn, I expect Glenn and price to line up on the same side alot. I remember the Rams forcing teams to choose which Wr to cover on one side and hit the other. No time for false steps by the safties. You guard one the other has single coverage adn both Glenn and price can beat single coverage. Add in the fact that Witten stays open underneath as well as Johnson and now JJ has 7 men in the box and LA, Riveria and crew are licking their chops. I just feels sorry for that poor rookie # 3 DB that has no chance in hell to cover these guys.
64% guys and we have yet to unleash our deep threats, nothing on film guys to look at, because we didn't have 3 weapons like this last and we haven't shown anything in this pre-season. JJ and A-train will abuse defenses in the 4th quarters. I know I equaled Train to THam, but I was wrong. He has just turned into BPs new version of Anderson and I'm not talking about Richie. More like OJ Anderson int the Giants SB year. Tire out the defense with a nice run game and solid passing game, then let Train pound on them until they quit. Sunday can't get here fast enough.
I could ask you the same about Carter's. Waived by 2 teams, passed on by 32.kartr said:Does Drews' numbers the last two years excite you?

When I think about it, we will use a double TE formation with two wide outs more often, at least until Rob gets settled in at RT. Putting Campbell out there to help him does a couple of things for us. It strengthens the running game by making the right side viable, and also makes the play action more effective.
JJ would be alone in the backfield, but Witten is like having a wide out in there. He can motion as a lead blocker or to run routes. Then there is the surprise of throwing to Campbell. The oppossing LB's would have a heck of a time blitzing us if we had two TE's as relief.
PP is a good pick up depth wise, but I think Crayton has earned the chance to play the third WR, when we use it. But in anything but third and very long, I would rather we went with the two TE set with Key and TG wide, and a single back set.
Am I crazy, or does anyone else see this?
50cent said:. No disrespect to Crayton but I think PP name carries alot more weight to DC than his does. Not after this preseason. Other than Henry no other position on our team has improved more.....this year.

I agree with you. No doubt I love the signing of Price but that has nothing to do with how I feel about Crayton. I was impressed at how he finished last season and to see him continue to improve this pre-season I'm really looking forward to seeing him this reg season and think he will make a name for himself in the NFL.
You're not alone, I see it too. Remember this team started the 2003 season 5-1 and there were times when we only had two receivers out in the route. The first priority is protecting the quarterback. Once we prove that we can do that, the rest will follow.fortdick said:Am I wrong in the assumption that we won't see three WR's a whole bunch? I have also had the same perceptions regarding Parcell's, but I saw them lining up in a lot of 3 wide and 4 wide this pre-season. It could be that they don't want to show their cards, but who knows. Parcell's didn't seem to mind airing it out with Bledsoe when they were both with New England.Cogan said:Plain as day. BP is one of the most conservative coachs in the NFL. 1st & 2nd downs will consist primarily of Witten & Campbell on the ends, w/Glenn and Key wide. Not only to protect an unexperienced Pettiti, but because that is what Parcells believes in. Run it right at 'em, pass just enough to keep the 'D' honest, and on 3rd down & more than three. Throw the bomb only when they start cheating up with 8-9 in the box.
It's how we won 3 Super Bowls in the 90s. Well, that, and playing kick butt defense. That's how we'll win 3 more this decade.
