This is what happens

When you can effectively run the ball. It doesn't have to be evenly split between run and pass. You just have to stick with the running game, be effective at it, and have patience.

I agree that running the ball effectively benefits a football team, but if you can't run the ball effectively, sticking with it seems kind of pointless. I think you have to give it an honest try, but there comes a point when continuing to beat your head against the wall just becomes counterproductive. Here's hoping the Rams game was evidence of the OL gelling and the running game finally coming around.

Atlanta seemed to do ok last year without emphasizing the run game.

Green Bay seemed to do ok the year before without it.

Who else?

Oh yea, us.. we finished with the 6th best offense in the league last year without emphasizing the run.

LOL. And none of those teams won a championship. You lost the argument so give up before you make yourself look a fool.

Dumb post. There's always anomalies.

OK, If you say so it must be true.

Note to self - Amber Beer does not want to discuss football. Just wants to state his opinion and berate those who offer insight into another view point.

But the team that did win a championship passed more efficiently than the team that lost it

Yes, im the one making myself look like a fool.. you're just the one replying to your own posts because no one cares to even respond to your silliness.

I get it now.. first you say the teams that don't emphasize the run suck, then when i prove that wrong you counter with, well they didn't win a championship.

As if they all didn't have high powered, explosive offenses.. i guess if you don't win a championship though, you must suck. lol

Ok then, AB, i'll leave you to your echoes..

You, like many others, don't get it. You don't have to have an even split between run and pass. But, when the situation calls for it, you need to run the ball. Pose your will on the other teams defense. You do that and it carries over to all areas of the game. Maybe you have to have played the game to understand. Football is a physical sport. To be able to run the ball you have to be more physical than the other team. Controlling the line of scrmage. That wears on a team and it wears on them quickly. Not only physically, but mentally.

You didn't prove squat. Those teams didn't win anything so your argument was proved to be false.

"See guys, I TOLD YOU ALL that if you can run the ball well its a positive thing!

NO ONE knew that til i said it, and you all said i was crazy, but i told youuuuu!"

lol

You didn't prove squat. Those teams didn't win anything so your argument was proved to be false.

Those teams all had top tier offenses without emphasizing the run. So they didn't suck. Soo.. you were wrong.

The end.

Shiner,

Please, consider the following facts

Year SB winner. NFL rank in yards rushing
2012. Baltimore. 11th
2011. NYG. 32nd
2010. GB. 24th

Being able to run the ball well is nice but in today's league it is not nearly as important as passing and, ultimately, being able to run the ball effectively is not even necessary.

If your idea of a successful team is "they didn't suck" and is not winning championships then you win.

In addition The Patriots and Peyton Manning teams do not emphasize the run and they consistently have winning seasons.

Its really got nothing to do with what i think.

Your statement was that the teams that don't emphasize the run suck.

I, and others, showed teams that didn't emphasize the run and were still top tier offenses.. aka, didn't suck.

When you saw you were wrong, you backtracked and quickly brought up winning championships.. as if any team that doesn't win a championship any given year must all suck.

Great job. Give yourself another pat on the back..

Another ignorant post. When you use stats, like you just did, there's always anomalies. And I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt not digging deeper into your stats to see what was behind your claim.

Please post where I said that teams that don't emphasize the run suck.

Yea, and those teams that don't emphasize the running game suck. And don't give me some stupid stats on teams run vs pass plays. It's all about being effective. Sometimes that means running for 3 qtrs with a 2 ypc but still trying in the 4th.

Really.. this isn't your post?

Post number 18 in the thread.. posted by you, sir.

lol

OK, I have to ask, at this point are you just trying to defend your original post out of pride, or do you really believe that the arguements presented toward you have no merit.
