My bad on the JOEY stat he did not make the "Probowl" but did finish 6 in yards and (7) catches 2cd in TDs with SIMMS/Greise as his QB. thats a PRO BOWL type season he just didnt win the popularity vote... not bad for a guy who was traded for someone who was KICKED OFF the team!!!

The trade was simply bad.
Has nothing to do with Moss who isn't with the team that drafted him, or with Galloway who had more bad years then even decent ones before finally having a good one. You just don't trade two 1st rounders AND pay big bucks. Tim Brown was the right move but we panicked thinking we needed offensive speed.

i will always respect jerry jones for not getting moss.

it was the wrong player at the wrong time for dallas.
Much like I would respect him for not getting Owens now and for the same reason. However, Jerry seems to have lost his reason of late.

Thank you...I'll be going outside now to throw myself off the roof.

Isn't that the worst. When one of us common fans knows its a bad decision when it was made. For christs sake, I couldnt have been more than 11 when that Galloway deal went down, and I knew it was bad news.

It was a bad trade. The good thing or maybe it is still a bad thing is that Dallas still would not have won without that trade. Even if they keep those picks, they probably don't draft Shaun Alexander because Emmitt was still the man.

They may have drafted Koren Robinson, but that would not have helped. He got kicked off Seattle and has not been a good receiver. Dallas needs a good receiver, more than a Pro-Bowl kick returner. Robinson had drug and off the field issues in Seattle. Put him in the pressure cooker of Dallas and he is more than likely out of the league.

Tim Brown would not have been as effective in Dallas with a concussed, back injured Aikman and a turnover of young, inexperienced QBs. Now he is out of the league.

So no matter what Jerry did, it probably would have been the wrong move. 5-11, 5-11, 5-11, 10-6 and 6-10 seasons don't come about with one single bad trade. That is the work of numerous poor decisions.

Not only was the trade for Galloway horrible, but look what we did with our remaining draft picks from 2000 and 2001.

2000:
- traded 3rd round pick for James McKnight, undrafted WR who Seattle was going to cut.
- drafted Dwyane Goodriddance in the 2nd round.
- Kareem Larrimore, Michael Wiley, Mario Edwards, and the rest of the draft team couldn't start for an NFLE squad.

2001:
- bounced around the 2nd round, only to move back up to take Quincy Carter.
- Tony Dixon in the 2nd round ... a player who didn't even start for his college team.
- Crap My Pants drafted in the 3rd round.
- the list is endless. This is what we get for JJ and Lacewell running the drafts.

this gets revisited at least 487 times a month

imagine how much time other teams fans must spend saying "damn why didnt we draft Emmitt Smith!!!"..."why didnt we trade up for Troy Aikman!!!!"..."how the hell did we pass on Larry Allen!!!!!"..."how come we passed on Mark Stepnoski 3 or 4 times!!!!"..."holy crap, we didnt get Michael Irvin!!!!"...

its a crap shoot people...soem times you win, some times you dont

who's to say had we drafted Randy Moss that he wouldnt have blown out his knee like Joey Galloway did? does Moss have some immunity to injuries that I dont know about? have any of you fools who continually slam the Galloway trade actually LOOKED at what his numbers were in Seattle? Waht if we drafted Moss and he just turned into the ultra thug, got locked up etc etc? what then?

Dave, irregardless of injuries and who's who ... the rule of thumb is:

Never give up multiple 1st rounders for ONE player !!!

Period.

Don't do it.

Consider it a sin.

Don't even consider it.
