Stephen has the timeline/window to go draft a QB in the 1st and develop, just like his Dad did in 1989. Jerry does not anymore, which is why he has been piggybacking QB's for the past 20 years.

Once Jerry is gone, the window widens. I am not wishing any ill will on Jerry, but people don't live forever.

Every time I see Chuckle's head, it seems to have grown larger....is he trying to break the MLB Home Run record?

Jerry didn't draft anyone in 1989. He was busy working on finances, and did a great job of fixing them, as Jimmy's contract gave him control over player personnel.

That clause in Jimmy's contract had a lot to do with his departure.

They have a chance to help right the ship the next few months. Zeke decision. Dak restructure. Spend $ in FA. Another great draft.

I keep dreaming of a salary cap without Zeke and Dak. Can you imagine?
But the problem is the front office. They have no clue on how to handle the cap and free agency. They are the reason why this team can't seem to advance in the playoffs.

It’s really amazing they’ve been able to produce as much success as they have. You’d think we’d be more bottom tier than able to make the playoffs.

What they are much better at is hyping and selling their product. To the point fans start believing it’s more than it is. But the fall down to reality every year is always so painful for these fans who buy into the hype.

Unfortunately we have to go thru this process every year after the season.
You buy into it since you continue to follow and watch them.

The team that took the field last Sunday very clearly showed you they were capable of moving on except for one position. Jones have faults for sure but bottom line they assembled a team that was capable except they misjudged the most important position a few years back.

Put any number of QB's on the field and we are preparing to play this weekend.
Nah the problem is Jerry and Stephen. It has always been that way and it will always be.

Meh, I follow and watch them because I have been doing it since I was a kid. I don't know anything else, but I'm old enough to know what I am actually watching now.

What amuses me are fans who think they're superheroes for defending every dumb move made by the Jones boys. That is the real entertainment for me these days.

What amuses me is your hysterical thinking. Clearly it bothers you.

Dak did not play well. But you are making the mistake the Jonesboys made....the 49ers are better than us. They are better than us at a LOT of positions. Starting with head coach and play caller. And let me not leave out the front office and culture. Accross multiple regimes...they have gone to NFC title games with Alex Smith...they have gone to Super Bowls with Kap...they have gone to Super Bowls with Grappalo, they are 1 game away with Mr Irrelevant. I am not lover or hater of Dak...but the gap between the divisional round and the title game is bigger than Dak. We are on a 28 year drought for MULTIPLE reasons!

I said last week that the 49ers were a way more talented team than our Cowboys in more ways than one (players, coaches, playcalling, schemes, culture, etc), and some disagreed with me.

Some people don't understand nuance. When you have the talent advantage you can just come out and put 40 points on somebody and just run them out the stadium. When you don't... you play a game of field position and win a close one at the end. The ability to play with either strategy requires the right
  • culture (guys understanding they might not get their numbers a particular game),
  • it requires coaching (coming up with a gameplan the emphasizes low scoring mistake free football)
  • it requires discipline (team has to be disciplined and not commit penalties because takes you out of manageable downs and distance)
  • football IQ (understanding situational football and understanding when to throw it away and punt or not take a sack pushing you out of FG range, or not running out of bounds when you are trying to keep the clock running)
I could go on and on, but I won't. I think you get the point. But too many just look at the final score and I assume you are 1 score away. My fear is that the Jonesboys do this...that is not becoming of football men...that is fandom.

This was the Pats blueprint for years. They won a lot of Super Bowls scoring a whole lot points in the regular season, but winning Super Bowls by a FG. The ability to do that is a combination of front office, coaching and roster.

I've known for a long time that NFL is just a business and it's just about money. Feels like the Dallas Corporate-boys to me. May just quit watching all together. I'm pretty done, slap me around for fun.

With better QB play in the divisional round, Dallas would have been getting ready to play Philly this weekend.

Everything was set up to win, but the QB struggled with his mental
You nailed it again my friend.

We should be playing this week.

I've tried so many times to believe in Dak only to eventually be let down again. You can almost watch his psyche drop when things get tough. I am finally off the Dak see-saw, but since he's gonna be here awhile I hope he makes me eat crow.

Nah, you Dak doubters need to stay off. Enough of the flip-flopping. Just stay off for good.

Its worse because Stephen aka Mr. Cap grew up with a silver spoon. So he will be worse than his father.

Lol, how about you fan the way you want and not tell others how they should?

This board is about opinions, it wasn't created for experts like yourself.

Your constant yelling at folks who don't agree with you gets a little tiresome.

Watching the constant flip-flopping, support one day, bash the next gets tiresome as well.

Watching the Dak fanboys pile mindless stupidity upon mindless stupidity gets old real fast.
Dak is still this team's franchise QB. Jerry Jones insinuated it is ludicrous to even think about getting rid of Dak. Michael Irvin downright said it's plain stupid to even think of getting rid of Dak. Bill Parcells even said Dak might not be among the very top QBs, but you can certainly reach and win a SB with Dak. Babe Laufenberg said Dak is good enough to win it all with. Showing support for how these distinguished gentleman feel about keeping Dak is not mindless stupidity. What is mindless stupidity is continuing to follow a team which clearly does not side with your point of view.
