Jerry has stated that he's not looking to free agency or the draft to fill holes. He doesn't recognize any holes........ except glory ones.
There is still some cap protections in the process.I thought the Joneses basically admitted this already. When Jerry was asked about his "no voids" comment, he "clarified" that he didn't think we'd have voids after the draft. Tells me they definitely will be drafting for need again.
I need be like you. I am going to probably find something else to do on draft day so I won’t break anything. Hopefully I will come on the board and be surprised.BC they don’t take winning seriously.
I wanted to keep Gholston so we wouldn’t have Mikel Williams as a possibility at 12. So far we have to add Williams, Campbell and Barron. We have a long list of needs but not enough picks.Lewis is the only loss thus far. Golston is a rotational type, never will be a full time starter in this league.
LOL.Way too early, let's see what happens for the rest of fa. There are still plenty of players that can upgrade this roster, all we truly lost was Lewis, who many wanted to be replaced prior to last season.
Still can sign DLaw or another fa starter. Read a report that they were interested in Reddick so that suggests they may be looking for a DE starter.I wanted to keep Gholston so we wouldn’t have Mikel Williams as a possibility at 12. Can’t say, but I most assuredly believe their will be teams that do at some point in R1.Problem is who is a team trading up
for?
I think I see the problem.I thought maybe we would grab a running back, wide receiver, linebacker, guard, defensive tackle, and cornerback in free agency
No.The Guard/Tackle they signed yesterday might start at Guard.
The Eagles just made another good trade.Still can sign DLaw or another fa starter. Read a report that they were interested in Reddick so that suggests they may be looking for a DE starter.
The Guard/Tackle they signed yesterday might start at Guard. I saw that he had a poor year last season, but was very good the prior year. Has a ton of starting experience. Remember many said the same thing about Kyle Kozier when he was signed and he turned out to be a much better player then we originally believed.
The Eagles just keep playing chess. I thought maybe the Joneses could at least play checkers. They are stuck on marbles.I think I see the problem.
Agree to an extent but the problem is we’re letting players walk and downgrading. It is perfectly fine to sit out 1st wave of free agency. Outside of Washington, no team has made a impactful move in my opinion. 49ers/Seahawks gutted their rosters, Eagles lost multiple starters and Vikings lost their QB. I would say we are doing ok thus far, but they have to start filling holes with quality options, not bottom level players. Time will tell if they have changed.
Very well Could be. They normally find a gem at the bottom of the draft. They better this draft.Talk me off the ledge guys. I am an idiot I know. I thought maybe we would grab a running back, wide receiver, linebacker, guard, defensive tackle, and cornerback in free agency so we wouldn’t have reach for need in the draft. I know it’s early and there is plenty of trash to pick through but the free agency class stinks. The Cowboys cleared all this cap space and signed guys they could have gotten a month from now.
With the first 3 picks the Cowboys will probably draft a cornerback, linebacker, and running back in some order. So depending on how the draft plays out they are going to have to reach or be dependent on the teams in front of the Cowboys to make a mistake. The Cowboys will probably miss out on a stud wide receiver, defensive end or defensive tackle. This is a frightening scenario. I hope I am wrong. Please someone give me hope.
All players mentioned are depth players and very replaceable. Let's see how they address their open starting positions. You did want Osa back and not a downgrade there, 20 million a season affects other role players.Agree to an extent but the problem is we’re letting players walk and downgrading.
Williams is worse than Dowdle and Thomas is worse than Golston.
It’s the same ole same ole…
