There is little excuse for the Cowboys to not realize that Odighizuwa cannot carry this position group by himself, even with some of the steady progress Mazi Smith has made alongside him to give the Cowboys at least two starting caliber defensive tackles. Carlos Watkins, Justin Rogers, and Ernest Brown are the only other DTs currently under contract.

Being left with a rebuilding offensive line, no established running backs under contract, and this group of defensive tackles clearly showed that McCarthy’s plan failed at the end of his contract.

I thought the Joneses basically admitted this already. When Jerry was asked about his "no voids" comment, he "clarified" that he didn't think we'd have voids after the draft. Tells me they definitely will be drafting for need again.

With as many needs we have this is he perfect year to take BPA, with the exception of a couple of positions.
But Im sure the will weigh the needs in some fashion that will cause them to reach instead of letting the draft come to them.

It is perfectly fine to sit out 1st wave of free agency. Outside of Washington, no team has made a impactful move in my opinion. 49ers/Seahawks gutted their rosters, Eagles lost multiple starters and Vikings lost their QB. I would say we are doing ok thus far, but they have to start filling holes with quality options, not bottom level players. Time will tell if they have changed.

Talk me off the ledge guys. I am an idiot I know. I know it’s early and there is plenty of trash to pick through but the free agency class stinks. The Cowboys cleared all this cap space and signed guys they could have gotten a month from now.

With the first 3 picks the Cowboys will probably draft a cornerback, linebacker, and running back in some order. So depending on how the draft plays out they are going to have to reach or be dependent on the teams in front of the Cowboys to make a mistake. The Cowboys will probably miss out on a stud wide receiver, defensive end or defensive tackle. This is a frightening scenario. I hope I am wrong. Please someone give me hope.

All players mentioned are depth players and very replaceable. Let's see how they address their open starting positions. You did want Osa back and not a downgrade there, 20 million a season affects other role players.
