I think the Cowboys first round pick is wide open. It could be one of 10 players. Linebacker and cornerback is a blinking red light unless they believe Diggs/Overshown make it back early. After seeing the money that cornerbacks have received, there is no way the Cowboys cut Diggs. He is actually a bargain.

You can scratch defensive end, offensive linemen, and defensive tackle off the list of top 4 picks in my opinion. The Cowboys are going to draft in some order a wide receiver, cornerback, linebacker, and running back with their first 4 picks. I think they trade back to get another third.

Talk me off the ledge guys. I am an idiot I know. I thought maybe we would grab a running back, wide receiver, linebacker, guard, defensive tackle, and cornerback in free agency so we wouldn’t have reach for need in the draft. I know it’s early and there is plenty of trash to pick through but the free agency class stinks. The Cowboys cleared all this cap space and signed guys they could have gotten a month from now.

With the first 3 picks the Cowboys will probably draft a cornerback, linebacker, and running back in some order. So depending on how the draft plays out they are going to have to reach or be dependent on the teams in front of the Cowboys to make a mistake. The Cowboys will probably miss out on a stud wide receiver, defensive end or defensive tackle. This is a frightening scenario. I hope I am wrong. Please someone give me hope.

Deep breath. Your not an idiot. After 30 years of nothingness we are all staring at the ledge lol. Address the LB,CB sitch prior to the draft with good players. Draft a generational RB like Jeanty and it will mask a ton of deficiencies on defense. Recall the 2014 team where Marinellis defense was average to poor ? What did we do? We ran the ball alot with our stud RB Murray behind our outstanding Oline. We played keep away from our suss defense, chewing clock, getting the dub. This is the formula in my opinion. Shotty says he wants a stellar run game. This makes sense. We can turn the thing around in a nanosecond by drafting right and getting a CB,LB in here in free agency. It's very easy.

You could be right . The contract I heard Vegas was throwing around for Dowdle was ridiculous .

I hope we can get Cooper Kupp. I am holding out hope that we can get a deal done with him. So far it looks like business as usual. We have lost our best corner, starting running back, second best defensive end, and our all time great guard retired. We replaced them with two JAGs.

Get a RB on day 2. There will probably be a RB available in the 5th just as good as Dowdle and he will be on a rookie deal for 4 years. So why pay Dowdle $6M or more per year? Those 2 rookies plus Williams, Deuce and Luepke would make a good RB corp.

Right now, this team is worse than what we put out on the field last season. It's unfair for the Cowboys to think that we're going to hit heavy in the draft and expect rookies to play major roles for us to start the season. Are we asking too much and being unfair to these rookies? I know you can't sign everyone you want in free agency, but I feel like we're relying too heavily on rookies to play vital roles for our team, when some should be brought in slowly instead of thrown right into the fire!
