Major changes need to be made.

I don't know exactly what those changes are, but adding or subtracting a few players isn't the answer. This team needs a dramatic change in culture.

This loss is completely insignificant...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If...

1) Atlanta or Tampa Bay lose tomorrow...

2) Philly wins tomorrow...

and

3) Atlanta and Tampa Bay both win next weekend. Atlanta hosts the 2-12 Rams, Tampa Bay hosts the 3-11 Raiders.

In this very plausible scenario, today's game is completely insignificant in the grand scheme of making the playoffs. A win wouldn't have helped us anymore than our loss did.

Why? Because since Atlanta and Tampa Bay will very likely win their week 17 games, we would've needed to clinch a spot this weekend in order for our week 17 trip to Philly to NOT be approached as a do-or-die game.

Allow me to clarify: I'm not saying losing last night didn't suck. Not only for the playoffs, but for the last game ever in Texas Stadium. Would've been real nice to go out with a W.

Would've been nice to control our own destiny. We don't control that anymore.

But we regain that "control our own destiny" status tomorrow afternoon if the Falcons or Bucs lose.

This thing's not over yet... Go Vikings, go Chargers!

The ONLY thing that's insignificant is this thread and your post. Seriously man, if you believe what happened on that field last night is insignificant you are completely delusional.

And that's just it. If this team makes the playoffs, then the attitude will be "We got there so we know how to get there. We could not win in theplayoffs so just need to make some small adjustments to be great." He will erase the season from his memory.

If we miss the playoffs if forces a lot of self evaluation the season as a whole and you will see Jerry make bigger changes. That's the M.O. of Jerry Jones.

Still, being a Cowboys fan I am unable to root AGAINST the Cowboys making it into the Playoffs. The thing is as it always is IF the Cowboys get LUCKY and make the Playoffs ANYTHING can happen... it's a new season in the Playoffs and going on a 4 game winning streak wins you the Super Bowl. Of course, the Cowboys haven't won 4 in a row this season (only 3 in a row 2 times) and don't look like they'll do very well if they get in but again, it's my Cowboys and I can't root against them... gotta always hope that there still is a CHANCE, another game to play, another chance to win another game and continue on... GO COWBOYS!!!

I hear ya and agree in the sense that once you are in anything can happen.

But for me.... I would rather go in on a BIG GAME win and some momentum.

My reading comprehension is fine "Nav22". As a matter of fact, it has nothing to do with your pie in the sky, kool aid drinking self. You gotta bring it stronger than that. This thread you started is almost as bad as the Cowboys performance last night.

At least it was an out of conference loss.......... We are still very much alive, but that was a tought pill to swallow last night. If I was in the building I would not have stayed for the post game I would have been that disgusted.

This loss is significant.

There is noway you want to be entering the Playoffs with the type of losses we have had against the Steelers and Ravens.

Now those are AFC Teams, but losses like the one yesterday are very demoralizing.

Also, don't be suprised if this team totally mails it in next week.

The loss last night was demoralizing and I wouldn't be suprised if they lay an egg next week against the Eagles.

Sorry man. I cannot agree with your line of thinking on this one. This loss was significant. I would go into detail as to why but I won't. I'm still pissed off.

You probably thought the same about the Giants game after our tough loss in Pittsburgh.
My reading comprehension is fine "Nav22".
No, it's not.

I'm not drinking any kool-aid. It doesn't take optimism to see that we DO control our own destiny if the Falcons or Bucs lose today. It's simply common sense.

Blind pessimism wouldn't see it, though.

Tell me you all will not be watching to see if Atlanta or Tampa loses today...

Please. Of course you will.

The Cowboys are going to be making the playoffs.

Yeah all I'm doing today is hoping that Tampa and Atlanta lose and I wouldn't be hurt, at all, if Philly loses as well.

RIDICULOUS
The fact that you isolated the thread title without reading the qualifiers in my post? Yes, that is ridiculous.

Just stop already.

The word IF is all over your post.

The word insignificant should have never been in the post.

The loss was dreadful. We had to win and we didn't.

Instead of hoping and praying that all this other stuff happens we should have just taken care of business.

No, I read it and to say that about any lose is absolutely ridiculous.
