Fwiw, and not saying it's right, but Dal was credited with the fumble, not the FB.

Ist drive just sneak or hand it to dowdle. The last drive mac blew it on the 1st and goal. Instead of just pounding it he calls a pass and gets a sack.

This isn't how football works. People need to stop with the nonsense that 1 or 2 (or even 10) players win or lose games.

It's stupid.

Tony Pollard has entered the chat. Just makes no plays and when he has a chance to he gets tackled way to easy.

Dak only cost $26 million to this year's cap. He will get extended with a 5+ year extension to help lower the cap hit the next 3 - 4 years. While I agree he shouldn't be paid top pay, his current cap hit is not why this team can't afford a better backup. It's because they have whiffed badly at drafting Tyron Smith's replacement by now.
They drafted his replacement with a first last year. Now they need to draft a guard.

Why is no one talking about the play of Tony Pollard? Why does he get a pass? The Leupke fumble never happens if he actually lowers his shoulders and give 1/2 effort on the play before to get in the end zone. Not to mention Dowdle does a better job than him not only getting down hill, but also in pass protection. With the amount of money Tony P is making, he should be a top 10 back. He was horrible tonight. Waste.
He wasn’t completely terrible. He did get his name added to the list of people that have sat Steele on his ***.

Football is the ultimate team game. I like the way this team played today. Especially missing Tyron. If their Oline is intact they will be tough to beat.

Sure, there are a ton of reasons that contributed to the loss. But, without the fumble by a slow, below average rookie, and without the ineptness of a waste of a roster spot LT, we probably win this game!
Both Luepke and Edoga would not earn a practice squad spot on most teams. We must do better at those positions!! They should both be fired the day after Christmas.
I am not sure what Edoga was doing out there. you are the LT. your primary responsibility is the DE on your side. then 4 times I counted, he just slid inside to double block Smith's man. and the DE literally had a straight line to the QB without any blockers. come on man

Most of them are the same ones who thought he could replace Zeke. Zeke scores on the play before that mess though.
Ya b.s.
With zeke, we would have already punted from back at the 50
Luepke got us two 1st downs that Zeke had been stuffed on for 3 years..

Another thread going on cause of fumble

Umm…Dallas recovered and took the lead. A fumble on the opening drives does not equate to the whole game. If it happened in the 2nd half, then I would agree. Dallas lost this game in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
Right. If memory serves me right, they went 3 straight 3 and outs over that span. The offense looked a whole lot like the first of the season.

But they lost this game because the defense couldn’t make a game winning stop on the last drive. Just like the Eagles Monday in Seattle.

Leupke whiffed on a protection block had Chubb giving Prescott a dental exam . Fumbling at the goal expensive whiffing on protection blocks priceless .

Luepke is not a ball handler. I bet he doesn't get 5 practice snaps during the week. MM got too cute.

Edoga is a backup. If Dak wasn't making a quarter of the team's salary cap, maybe we could have afforded to shore up the backup positions on the OL.

Be thankful it wasn't Chaz Green out there.
This is a bad take, he carried the ball plenty in college.

They didn’t lose because of Luepke, that was the opening drive. Now, Edoga should have had more help, get a TE or two next to him. There were far bigger issues than the early fumble.
We absolutely lost because of Luepke. He cost us 7 pts who cares when it happened.

Edoga, yes. Luepke, no. Too early in the game to blame it on him. The Cowboys took the lead after that, twice.

I have no idea what Edoga was thinking letting Chubb come free multiple times in this game. But On one play if looked like the LB was coming on a blitz, Edoga rightly shifted inside to take him but then the guy backed off the blitz and Chubb came in unblocked. Tough play for Edoga. But a couple of other times he just let Chubb rush unblocked. No doubt the missed Tyron.

I'd like to know why the offense fell off a cliff after the first two drives. It looked to me like Miami began to blitz Dak sending 6 and forcing him to get rid of it too quickly. The Cowboys never adjusted. I read that Dak was rushed 42% of his drop backs. I saw a lot of 6 man rushes by Miami. This is the problem with not having a running game. If the Cowboys could have hit a couple of draw player or other runs on those blitzes Miami would have been forced to respect the play action.

Also, with that kind of pass rush, wouldn't it be good to have a decent screen game?
