I've been saying it all season. I don't care how successful the running game is, McCarthy doesn't want to win that way so to hell with it. Rico should have had 28 carries for 250 yards last night. Dude was ballin.. seeing the holes.. hitting it at 100 mph, breaking tackles.. He was going to house one in the 4th quarter if they kept giving him the ball. But not Mike McCarthy.. He needed to put the ball in Rush's hands.. Yeah.. that's the ticket.
yeah the abandonment of the run is a serious serious concern

Final play of the game Lamb was wide open for a simple 1st down and instead, Rush threw it a duck incomplete.
Embarrassing to lose to a mediocre team at home.
It's not embarrassing that they lost to a mediocre team as the Cowboys are also mediocre. However how they lost is embarrassing

RonnieT24......McCarthy and Jerry been undermining the offense all year. Most recently, we got enamored with scoring offense over balanced offense, during KMoore tenure, and then McCarthy backtracked on the very reason KMoore needed to be removed from play calling. We're just a confusing offense that only has an identity from game-to-game and a roster being forced to scheme, instead of scheme fitting roster......add roster building flaws. That's what you have.
It's almost to the point where I don't want to watch anymore because it feels at times like McCarthy is trying NOT to win games. How else do you justify not giving the ball to a guy averaging 7 yards a pop? All those trips inside the 10 yard line where he refused to use Zeke? It's just not adding up to a guy trying to win. Even last night when we got down close and Rico came out for a blow McCarthy still refused to just pound the ball into the end zone with Zeke.. Zeke got 3 yards on one carry and then we went 5 wide empty backfield. It's infuriating. I have always stated with a back like Zeke if I'm inside the 10 yard line I'm giving it to him 4 straight plays. If you stop me you stop me but you're gonna have to show me. Zeke may not have a lot left in the tank but dude can still fall forward for 3 yards pretty much regardless of what the defense does. Hell even handing it to Rico down there would have made more sense than all the pass happy crapola we saw. The two trips in the red zone where we kicked the FG and Rush threw the INT were a huge difference in the game. We would have had 11 more points if we cash those in.

I don't think that's true, because in 58 minutes we played better/had better coaching, it wouldn't have been close, and we'd be talking about something else right now, 1 play didn't just mess this game up
1 play literally messed this game up. A blocked punt that would've given Dallas a FG opportunity without gaining a yard. But no, some fool screwed it all up for everyone.
But you're allowed to be wrong.

Jimmy Johnson would've cut this dude at the press conference. (He's no Leon Lett, who, by the way, was terrified and in tears for fear of being cut after the Miami game in the snow. Lett had more to offer than this fringe player.) Nah, this should be a Curvin Richards moment...IYKYK)

Despite the hate for Zeke on this board.....you can still use him in situations. We just have a board that hates Zeke. It's not his fault, that's a roster problem by Jerry and a coaching philosophy by McCarthy. We've seen teams use short yardage specialists (Brandon Jacobs NYG) or be willing to have a lead blocker sometimes (Lupeke, Moose, and the late Walt Garrison & Robert Newhouse to bring names from the past) to get in the endzone or move the chains. Mike McCarthy has called some questionable short yardage plays all year (Cee Dee handoff) and with knowledge of red zone failures

Now our OL blocked the best we've seen all year......why so late Big Mike or was Cincy run d that bad? And most importantly, attempts trump yardage sometimes. Our run game been a problem for years now (going back to KMoore as OC) when I saw a TD fade on 1st & goal at the 1. It was successful but set a trend for empty backfield. Now we got WRs running routes close together in the redzone or endzone........ or opening drives stalling because of 3 straight unsuccessful passes to start a game. When the cadence says "Here we go".... maybe it means we're about to punt or attempt a FG, in a moment.

People who cultivate irrational hatred for a player on what they claim to be their OWN TEAM are hardly worth conversing with. The fact of the matter is the running game picked up when two things happened.. 1) The line started blocking (after the badly injured future Hall of Famer left the lineup) and 2) McCarthy stopped with the musical chairs. I said in September it didn't matter to me which back they went with but they need to go with one and let him get into a rhythm instead of guys getting 1-2 carries a quarter. Very few backs can excel in that mode. Zeke showed unequivocally that he can't. I'm happy to see Rico doing his thing though. Dude always showed he had some talent with durability being his only drawback. If he stays healthy these next 4 weeks he should get to 1000 yards.. Well assuming Air McCarthy will give him the ball enough.

The fact that Zeke led us in rushing and scored a TD in the first game this season and was benched for it should have told us all we needed to see about how this season was going to go. Apparently he did something that landed him in McCarthy's doghouse and he aint gittin out while they're both in Dallas. I didn't realize thought that Zeke has passed the 9000 yards rushing mark this season. My gut tells me he might play another year or two to see if he can get to 10K. But it can't be coming off the bench. He's got to go somewhere where they will hand him the rock and let him find his groove. I don't know if there's a team out there that will do that though. We'll see. But I'd wager a few dollars that if he gets cut by the Cowboys the 49ers would scoop him up the next day. He's tailor made for that offense.

The player was at fault but he is just a microcosm of the whole team this year. So it really shouldn't surprise anyone at all.

If a loss can never be on our QB solely, then one mistake by a special teams player shouldn't be allowed as well. If you want to point blame, start with Mike our coach. Game management is still an issue. Rico was doing just fine, but for SOME reason we went pass pass pass, as if you want to put that much trust in Rush.

The poor tackling on the Chase touchdown catch

Not sacking Burrow but allowing him on multiple occasions to climb the pocket and move around to avoid the rush.

This loss isn't on one player, let's be fair! Please give your thoughts
This team raises to the occasion when it's facing the Giants, but when they face a decent team, and Cinny is a decent team they nut up and disappear.

According to Opta Stats, in the last 10 NFL seasons, only twice has a partially blocked punt that traveled fewer than 20 yards been touched by the receiving team and recovered by the punting team for a new set of downs. Both came against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium (Broncos in 2021, Bengals in Week 14) and Last Night in 2024! :omg:  Dallas would also lose that game against Denver, 30-16, but finish 12-5 on the season.

I hope the best for Zeke......Cowboy philosophy did him in, when you look back. All the carries early in his career.and I will always feel he was done a disservice with the knee, and TPollard could have relieve him earlier to get healthy.
I hope you're right about getting to 10K.....but it will have to be at a solid franchise, and it doesn't mean being the starter. I'm just afraid the narrative on him has floated around too long and unfair. I've never seen a RB get yards with a bad OL in the NFL. Some will say Barry Sanders.......but he actually had a good OL during his career (Lomas Brown & others), just not quite measurable to Emmitt's. We'll see.
