I know it probably sounds ridiculous for me to say this. However, I must admit that this loss was painful for me tonight. maybe I'm foolish. Maybe it's because I'm young. I don't know. However, it felt absolutely torturous to watch today's defeat.

I suppose it's because this regular season was the best one that I have seen since becoming a fan around 2000. I mean, sure, we've had 13 win seasons before, but, before this game today, I felt this team really had a chance to do something special. Now, I dont know. We probably won't win the division next year because that's how the division works. We probably will have a new coach, but what's to say it's going to be a good coach if it's not McCarthy? Its going to have to be someone that works well with Jerry. But then, what happens to the team? Does it become irrelevant like when I started as a fan? Does it become successful? It just feels, well, painful feeling like this might have been the closest I'm going to have seen this team having a chance at success for some time.

I'm always going to stay a fan of this team. Most losses don't affect me the way they used to, but this one feels different just because of what I've described. Or at least, that's what's been rolling in my head since the game ended. Then again, should I care that much? The players don't seem to care that much. Their loss is mended by the money they made. Jerry won't care because he's got billions.

I'm sorry if this thread seems to be rambling. I'm just trying to vent a bit after how painful this loss was for me.

You're a passionate fan Rusty, don't be sorry.

I also used to be devastated after losses like this one but I'm just numb now. Sad to say but the best way to cope with being a fan of this team is apathy. Maybe it'll change once Jerry is gone, let's hope so.

I mean, I've been becoming a bit more numb to defeats, but today's cut at me like a red hot iron prod at all parts of the body except the fatal parts, and left just long enough for the nerves to not be killed off. Then repeated in other parts. That's how today's game feels.

Honestly, part of what hurts is that, I'm not even sure what to think about this season or the Cowboys as a franchise. I so badly want to see us in the NFCC as I've never seen us there. But, I don't really know how to lower those desires. I mean, I'm not one to ditch my teams, and I won't do that. That said, it's just so incredibly painful to think that this may be the best I'm ever going to get from the Cowboys.

this was the worst for me of all the losses, we had it set up for us, and did it again. Now I have to eat **** all off season and that is a fate worse than death.

Hang in there kid. This organization just cares about being good not great. We are garage sale and flea market patch and tape just enough to be relevant. The Jones family will sleep good tonight. It is what it is

I'm trying to. As a 31 year old, it's been just, mental with how this team never fails to fail in big moments. Honestly, one thing I'd love is for Bill Foley to take over the Cowboys. He owns the Vegas Golden Knights (my favourite hockey team) and the AFC Bournemouth Cherries (my favourite English football club). He's brilliant with how he runs teams. My Cherries have done well so far this season under his ownership (he just took us over during the PL offseason).
