This Offense is Going to Get Rolling

It's too good not to.

We saw it a little bit last night, mostly in critical times (which is nice). But it hasn't been like it was last year. Perhaps playing three really tough defenses to start the year has something to do with it. Clearly they aren't totally on the mark.

This line is still great though hasn't shown it in the last two games; they will get better.
Dak is good and will get crisper.
We have great depth at WR. Butler is good and should/will get used more.
Zeke will only go up too.

As usual, this season will come down to the defense. But this offense is going to be one of the league's best again, no doubt in my mind. This is a good, young team still taking their lumps and improving.

I think the play calling will adjust to what Dak likes the most and Zeke will get in a little better shape and we'll get on a roll.

Like with Romo, I wish they would scrap a lot of the pre-snap BS and just get up there and run a play.

Keep the defense on their heels and don't give them all the time in the world to get set every play.

I don't mind using motion to identify man or zone coverage but my gosh please stop with every other play making 20 adjustments.

The offense will get going when Chaz Green and Collins figure it out. Right now they are the culprits that is making our line not look like a unit right now. The All Pros are having to cover for a lot of their weaknesses and it's causing them to struggle a bit.

It all starts with the oline. If they improve, we should have a great run game again, which will further improve the pass game.

Collins made quite a few mental mistakes, hopefully he is a quick learner.

The Cards were shifting Golden etc inside right before the snap and it was giving him all kinds of fits.

Chaz is also very poor on stunts and it's causing Tyron to look bad.

True, I will say Collins made a great block on the Zeke TD. He blew the defender up and opened a good size hole there for Zeke to take it to the house. I do agree Collins needs to show better play overall.

We had a slow start in 2014 and last season.

Literally every offense in the NFL right now besides the Chiefs are off to a slow start.

What is scaring me is the run game really didn't start to dominate until Leary replaced Collins at G.

It takes a couple of years for a OL to really gell. You can replace one player and still do well; but when you have two replacements (even when one is moving to another position) there will be problems.

I think Collins will in the end be a Pro Bowl RT. Green can be almost as good at guard. IF they are determined and disciplined and steadily learn their craft.

I think this OL will be fine, it is a matter of 5 guys becoming 1 unit. This group has 2 new starters in the mix and as they continue to work as a unit I think we will see them come together

Starting to see more play action and misdirection with Zeke. Teams gonna look awhile and see if dak can carry the team if Zeke limited by enough in the box.....

According to Football Outsiders, the Cowboys have started off the year playing the #2, #1 and #3 defenses in 2016. 2 of them were away games and we've averaged 21.3 points per game.

I'm more worried about Frederick. To me, it doesn't look like he has played well in any of the 3 games. He got going a little bit last night, but was horrendous in the first 4 drives. Officials just aren't calling illegal contact these days across the league, but Dez is getting murdered out there. I watched Peterson literally have his arm extended and push and grab Dez for 15 yards on one play...nothing ever called.

I think our blocking from the TE's has been mediocre. But, if Witten is only going to run a 4-yard route we might as well keep him in to block. It's a waste of him to run a 4-yard route.

Yeah I am worried about Fredbeard- something is going on there.

Maybe?

You could also argue it took Zeke awhile to find his way. He was only a rookie. Last night, it seemed we made adjustments on offense and everything started opening up.

When we struggle to run against average defenses, I’ll worry but I was okay with the run game last night as the game progressed...we were also solid against NYG.

The o-line is still a concern. They simply are not playing to their usual standards. Fredrick especially has really had a very poor start to the year.

Dez has faced 3 top corners: Jenkins, Talib and Peterson. He clearly cannot beat top competition one on one. Luckily things should get easier for him going forward. He needs to become more of a factor in the offense.

We need 80-100 yards a game from Zeke. And we need Prescott out in space more than he is. He is very hesitant in the pocket. He is much better outside the pocket.

we were up against in the last three weeks probably the best D lines we will face all year. With the O line still learning to play together I would not worry yet.
