This offense is historic

I'm so impressed with how Schottenheimer has assembled the coaching staff and run the offense. He said we would run the ball and he kept his word.

I started closely following the team during the 1995 season so I missed the years before that but this has been the best offense I've seen. At least through the air it's better than the 1995 team and you can make arguments that it's just as good on the ground. If I'm wrong on this let me know. It's been 30 years and I was only 12 back then.

Why did they play Tolbert instead of Flournoy? I thought Flournoy had better chemistry with Dak and looked more explosive.
I think there is a comfort level with Tolbert. More experience than Flournoy. Having said that, Tolbert has peaked and Flournoy has Miles Austin-type potential. I think the Cowboys just want to bring him along slowly.

Also I did see Flournoy out there today.

This offense is good enough that it would be a shame to waste it.

It would also be a shame to waste draft picks on non-deserving players to fix this defense.

We are definitely caught between a rock and a hard spot.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of players out there that would give us good value and improve our defense to the point it would be sensible to sacrifice draft picks.

We got some good Cowboy football to watch today. So I'll be satisfied with that and see how things play out

Now do the defense next
It's a coaching thing 1st, then talent. Don't think Eberflus' bend but don't break Cover II is the ticket for a historic defense. I did think Dallas' OL would be stronger than it has been.

This is why I want a soft rebuild of the defense with a mix of drafted rookies and high-level vets via trade and/or free agent. The window for this offense playing at this level is 2 years, maybe 3 IMO.
