Yeah, I do see your point given Romo's awful injury history. But, I do think Dak learning from Romo a year or two more if possible, would have been more valuable in the long run. So, let's say they name Romo the starter, then he gets a season ending injury in week 3, and Dak takes over. The major plus is, he's got Romo helping him this season. In other words, I believe Romo was invaluable to the growth of Dak as a QB.Agreed on your basic premise. How long did Romo have, realistically. He was basically finished. health wise. No other club picked him up. There is something in that fact. He would have retaken the job...but still have retired in the off season. He had absolutely no playoff record to fall back on. The FO decision, to me, was solid at that moment.
