LOL! I love how it's Philly's fault now that TO is in Dallas.

Some people are sssooo blind. I guess that's what homerism is all about.

Look, first, isn't it pretty early to be crowing about TO bringing harmony to the Cowboys.

Second, if TO becomes a model citizen with the Cowboys - and I'm hoping he is - that still does not justify what he did in Philadelphia, to Donovan McNabb to Andy Reid or the team.

What is it with people who have to take an all-or-nothing approach to controversies?

Why can't it be that TO was a major distraction and a disruptive influence in Philadelphia yet we hope he doesn't become one here?

There's no need to justify or excuse his actions.

Part of Philly's problems is they treated TO like a five year old vs being a man.

Apologize in front of the team and in front of the media?

They should have made him sit in the corner, no TV for a week and go to bed w/o dinner.

Bunch of hyenas trying to control a lion.

Bunch of psedo-alpha males trying to run the show.

We clearly have an alpha male or two in Dallas. Namely BP.

Philly has a bunch of pretenders that never did anything but dominate a trio of habitual 5-11 teams when they were on top of the NFC East.

They found out what happens when you try to prop someone up as a leader when he really isn't (McNabb).

You're right, I'm definitely not saying that all is well in Cowboy land from here 'til the end of time, but Tom Jackson made it seem like at this moment, Dallas is in turmoil and things just aren't going very well. Comparing Dallas to Philly was pretty lame. That was a team with more than one disgruntled player. I think the fact that the team was split on Mcnabb vs Owens shows that there was more than just mcnabb vs owens or organization vs owens.

So far there seems no doubt that the team is behind Terrell. There seems to be a genuine feeling of appreciation for what he's doing, even if its taking pressure off Glenn/Witten.

What has Terrell Owens done since last season ended?
1) He was released by Philly
2) He signed with Dallas
3) He hurt his hamstring
4) He broke a bone in his hand
5) He had a bad reaction to medication (or whatever)

That's it...the media tried to make so much of his hamstring injury, and even though Bill said he was frustrated about it, it wasn't b/c it was Owens, it was because it was a player that he wanted out on the field. He held the same frustration with Vanderjagt and has in the past with other players: Flozell, Larry Allen, etc Bill seems to have little patience when it comes to injuries/healing. I can't blame him...he's a coach, he wants his best players out there NOW.

We'll see where we end up...Hopefully the playoffs

Tom Jackson has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer. Even those who figured he'd melt down gave the relationship at least a year.

Wishful thinking perhaps. Maybe he meant to say that the Cowboy players "hated their coach"....or maybe they were just "********".

Yeah, no need in bringing up anything regarding Tom Jackson's comments here. He detest TO and all the attention he gets. Not that TO isn't partially to blame, but the media loves to make things more than they are which is why TO continues to "seem" to have issues off the field.

So you are comparing a commercial shoot with live action and the spontaneity of genuine happiness for a teammate? Ok, move along there is nothing to see.

Note: even in that picture McFailure doesn't look too happy.

Note2: Tom was visibily angry about TO, like he p'd on his leg in the shower. It is very evident that it is personal.

TO is pretty clear in his book that he did not handle things in Philly well. He admits to mistakes. Overall, there was plenty of blame to go around in that situation. Jackson may not like that Owens threw some teamates under the bus. It is also in ESPN's interest (and the rest of the media) that the TO story continues to perk along. We'll continue to see this the rest of this season...and into the next.

...who said something to the extent that Dallas was on its way to going where Philly went w/ Owens last season...

Not only is Tom Jackson a Cowboys hater, he is also TO hater. So, the Cowboys get double the hate.

All true. Eagles are just as much to blame.

The media is rooting for TO to fail so that they'll have a story.

TO doesn't have to fail for the media to have a story. When there isn't a story they will create one, or two, or three...

biggest difference between us and philthy is drew bledsoe is a statesman and mcnabb is a big baby. bledsoe has voiced over and over he backs TO and considers him a friend as well as a teamate, thats all mcnabb had to do but instead he threw him under the bus cause mcnabb isn't a good qb he can just play football well.

I credit everyone in Dallas from top to bottom.

Jerry for sitting down with Owens and relating to him.. in life, in money etc..
BP for not letting things get out of control when the media was creating "stuff"
Teammates for having his back, for "riding with TO"

Its amazing... the small things... the common sense things is all it takes to make it work with people sometimes.... not that the Eagles of McNabb would know anything about that....

It looks to me that TO wanted to be happy in Philly... and McNabb was not going to have that at his expense... McNabb was thinking of himself and not the team

I think that one press conference where Parcells kept answer any questions about Terrell by saying he had no answer and will wait until ALL the facts are in was a great thing.

The media should show that much restraint. I think that showed Owens that his coach was not going to speculate on ANYTHING and throw HIM under the bus, but rather just wait until Terrell had the chance to clear the air himself.
That's how you treat a man.

I won't lie, part of me is still waiting for something bad, mostly on the field (lack of TD throws), but I'm hoping Terrell has grown from everything and it won't matter to him.
