This seems to indicate that the Pacman back and forth will end soon

Yea, I know that, but the question was WHY? I mean, lets say that we get Pacman TODAY, it sounds like Goodell is still going to wait till training camp to evaluate his status. It just doesn't seem to be in the best interest of Pacman. And I know that Goodell shouldn't be doing everything he can for Pacman, but is it better to keep him on the outside, away from people who can help him?
What's in the best interest for Adam Jones the man may be for him to sweat out every single month, week, day, hour, minute and second doubting and hoping that he will ever play in the NFL again. Waiting until the final moment for reinstatement may become the final kick in the pants for him which will keep him on the straight-and-narrow off the field for now on. With his track record, "the longer the wait, the better" philosophy may be the very best thing for the young man's future.

i don't know. Still think Titans owner Bud Adams wants his pound of flesh from Jerry Jones cause the Cowboys are thriving & Titans had to move from Houston to Nashville cause they couldn't compete/win in Texas. Adams is also a tightwad, meanspirited & classless man who wants his hour of fame for jacking Jerry.

Sago1, I think Adams got a better offer for a new stadium in Tennessee, and Houston didn't' get a new team until they built a new stadium. Owners of mediocre teams tend to look for better deals on stadiums, and the hel* with the fans. The Oilers had some great years in Houston, not withstanding Dallas.

I think the Titans have caught wind about how badly Jones covets Pacman now and they are just playing hardball.

LOL @ anyone thinking this has anything to do with when Titans were the Oilers in Texas.

If the Titans have no leverage than the Cowboys shouldn't offer anything more than a 6th or 7th rounder and tell the Titans to take it or leave it

From word regarding the guarantees in Pacman's Titans contract, they're not in position to play hardball. I see the Titans handling this as badly as they've handled prior player exits - like Eddie George and Steve McNair. The Titans don't seem to handle players leaving well.

How else do you explain how badly the Titans are handling things? There seems to be some level of spite involved - against the Cowboys or against Pacman Jones. Either that or just incompetence..

From the lack of movement on this deal, they may have done just that. The clock is ticking until the 2008 Draft. And it's ticking on the Titans.

The Titans have very little leverage in this instance. And whatever leverage the Titans think they have will evaporate one minute after the Draft is completed.

Assuming JJ lands 1-2 CBs in this upcoming draft, the Cowboys may not give anything at all to the Titans and just wait for Pacman to get cut.

I read an article stating they want Pacman to repay some of his bonus money, but no metion that they were after the Cowboys for money. Who knows with the Titans though.

I am really getting stronger feelings that the Cowboys should tell the Titans to buzz off and tell Pacman to contact us after the 2008 season.

That part is all figured out now as Pacman said he would drop his claim against the Titans for not paying him his performance bonus for playing 25% of the snaps his rookie season. And they would call it square. No word if the Titans accepted that or not though.

I realize that. My point was that everyone seems to think that the Titans were wanting the Cowboys to repay it, but the article that I read said that they were after Pacman all along, not the Cowboys.

True or not true, who knows?
