If they can't handle rational talk about what we can improve on with our team then good riddance to them.

I know i was screaming and jumping up and down when we pulled it out at the end.

However, when i come on here, i like to discuss what i saw that we might be able to do better next week and improve on..not make 20 posts going,

"Yayyy, we won, we won, woohoooo, screw you E-LIE! boogah, boogah, boogah!!"

You jumped up and down and then immediately ran to the forum to trash the team, that's believable.

If you could kindly point out the places where i have "trashed" this team tonight, i would appreciate it.

Yes, i'll wait.

It's not really trashing. I mean honestly, other than just saying "we won", what positive things are we finding to talk about here? Like, seriously? I mean, Selvie looked pretty good and the OL held up quite well, but how in depth of a discussion are we going to get into on those 2 things? There are only so many "Hooray, we did it!" you can have before people are going to want to get down to business and talk about what this team needs to do better going forward.

It's almost as if some try to insinuate that posters here, some who have been here for several years, aren't actually fans because they choose to talk about what we need to work on. I don't understand that mindset at all.

I really don't see the issue. Fans can discuss whatever they please. I really don't see it as complaining. Do you think our team is not going to try and address the issues? Then why can't we talk about the issues? They'll celebrate tonight I'm sure, but I see no reason why the fans can't discuss whatever they want. I was elated when Carr picked that ball off and ran it in the for win. Now that I've come down from that high, let's start discussing the good AND the bad.

People on here are way too concerned about what the topics of discussion are rather than the actual discussions. If you don't like it, leave.

Hit that right out of the park. whining about other fans is an art form around here. People need tp stop telling others how to be fans.

This reminds me back in the 70's and 90's when fans and media alike would treat 3 point wins like the Cowboys lost the game......and ask what happened?. ....well for these Boys, I'll take any win I can get and savor it like a fine French wine or Cuban cigar. Every game is a battle and in this NFL, winners and losers are separated by a TD at most. Just chalk up a W and on to the next one.

Football is back after a LONG wait... and we won. What else do we want? A win by a wider margin?

I agree there are areas to improve, but I don't get posters that sound "upset" or "miserable" after a win like this against a division rival. I mean, if you can't enjoy a win like this, then why be a fan?

Really, I have been on message boards for the better part of 15+ years and I have never visited one where people whine about what other people say as much as this place.

There is so much knowledge on the forum that things get bogged down sometimes.

However, you bet your *** the coaches and front office are already banging their heads trying to figure out how to clear up all the glaring issues before next week, why can't we?

Not surprised.

I have often equated fans who view the team such as yourself to be like the fable of the blind men and the elephant.

Each blind man touched a different part of the elephant and proclaimed what they felt was what the elephant must be like.

The big ears are surely like the large leaves of the jungle.

His trunk is like a large python.

His tail is like a garter snake.

His leg is like the large tree.

Each just knew the small piece they sampled represented the whole.

Turnovers are nice. But there is a hole in the offense right now and other teams will exploit that.

Yeah, the team won.

So when they don't get those turn overs or even do and lose, what then?

The big picture is winning it all. Penalties and 3 instead of 7 will not reach that goal.

So how is this a bad thing wanting the team to be good in all phases?

Or should I just shut my eyes?

Upset and miserable are your words.

We needed six takeaways to win, and we got them, with a new 4-3 defense playing in its first real game. That is good news. One would expect the defense to improve as the season goes on, and all indications are the Cowboys are going to be going after the ball on every play. Oh, and no more of the traditional "hands of stone" in the secondary. The Giants can go home and say they beat themselves, but the Cowboys went after them for the entire game and did enough to get that final takeaway and the victory that went with it. This was a team victory.

Or should I just shut my eyes?

Week one with a new offense and new defense and we beat a time we have lost to 4 times in a row in our house. While it wasn't the perfect game we won. Tonight, that is all that matters.

The game thread was in full meltdown mode as soon as the Giants started making their comeback in the 3rd.. make's me wonder how many of these people watch the games just to bash the Cowboys tbh.
Eh...I stayed away from the game thread this week, and I enjoyed the game more as a result.

Because it's something we've all experienced far too often while watching our team play. I don't think meltdown is the right word for it. It's a forum where everyone is going to sound off. When we get a turnover, everyone is going to be in "full sunshine" mode, when we look like we may lose, I expect the attitude to represent it with "full meltdown". Nothing odd about people reacting to a team they're so invested in. I know one thing, if the stuff that goes on in the game thread bothered me that much, I'd stay out of it. Just like I wouldn't invite friends over to watch the game if I can't handle their reactions to it.

Really just Selvie and Oline? What a joke! Special teams were very good. Bailey perfect. Murray had 125 yards from scrimmage. Romo threw 49 times with only one not his fault turnover. Witten was a red zone force with two tds. Carter and Lee were very good. We hustled all over the field and created turnovers. Miles made some clutch catches. Tyrone dominated JPP.

I could go on. The problem with the.consistently negative posters here such as yourself if you honestly get so blinded by what you see is wrong you completely miss all that was right.

Almost every game today was very close & some last minute victories for the teams.

We won. That's what matters. And with a dinged up QB too.

Yeah, that's true. I guess I was mainly pointing out what stood out to me the most, or maybe what I liked seeing the most. I just liked that Selvie stepped up and a consistent weakness of our team may actually not be a big weakness this year.

Selvie was great. Better than Ware actually. Hayden was great too against the run and forced a turnover.

Yeah and our division games are always wacky. I can't wait to see Waters out there
