Football has been, is, and always shall be a team sport.

Teams win games, even championships, when everyone executes their assignments. Teams enjoy success even if a teammate stumbles but another teammate rises to the occasion. Romo rises to the occasion most of the time but some of his teammates have stumbled along the way. Some people don't admit this. Others cannot comprehend this.

David Tyree can superhumanly stick a football to the top of his helmet and keep a Super Bowl winning drive going. Some people proclaim and understand that's all about Eli Manning.

Faced with the opponent on his one-yard line, Malcolm Butler intercepts Russell Wilson and makes one of the greatest defensive plays in Super Bowl history. Let me say it again. Super. Bowl. H-i-s-t-o-r-y. I had to say it twice because all some people remember and recognize is Tom Brady winning a fourth Super Bowl for New England.

Tony Romo? Oh.

Romo lost the divisional game against the Giants. All of his teammates rose to the occasion. Like Jacques Reeves. Eli Manning didn't rape Reeves' pass coverage to drive down the field in less than a 45-second span before halftime to tie the game 14-14 in a game Dallas lost by four points. That didn't happen. Reeves rose to the occasion. That loss is primarily on Romo (wink wink).

Romo lost the divisional game against the Vikings. All of his teammates rose to the occasion. Like the offensive line. Minnesota's defense didn't have Romo running around like his head was cut off, buying time they wouldn't allow him to cash in to pass, and sacking him six times. That didn't happen. The offensive line provided good-to-great protection all game. That loss is primarily on Romo (wink wink).

Romo lost the divisional game against the Packers. All of his teammates rose to the occasion. Like DeMarco Murray. Julius Peppers didn't stretch in desperation at the ball Murray held SUPERBLY as he was running through a massive hole created by the offensive line, stripped Murray and ended either a huge gain or touchdown run that could've increased Dallas' lead. That didn't happen. Murray rose to the occasion. That loss is primarily on Romo (wink wink).

This stuff cannot be made up. A kindergartener could dissect any game in NFL history and see how teammates on any team have banded together to win games or lose games. School's out for Romo's Dallas Cowboys teams though. Not out for recess. Not out for holiday break. Not out for the semester. The school's condemned. Shut down. Torn down. There's a supermarket sitting where it used to stand and there's some crazy bearded guy yelling through a microphone screaming, "WAKE THE..." Sorry. This is a family forum after all.

Sad. Football is a simple game to understand. Dallas can win these next few games with Romo. Dallas can win a Super Bowl with Romo. Key word is "with." Time for his teammates to step up whether he's balling or he's not. That's how teams succeed. You win together.

Today on ESPN the new narrative went from yesterday's "He's actually good in the clutch! Who knew??! Look at his stats!" to today, "Well, if he hadn't played so poorly the first 3 quarters of these games he wouldn't have to be clutch." I'm dead serious. Dude can't catch a break.

So lets put MORE pressure on him now that the the Pass Rush suffered a blow, he lost his best receiver, and the Running Attack is still working itself out. Great. /sarcasm

e="Clove, post: 6273158, member: 5051"]I don't really care about regular season games honestly. I don't know what the Cowboys fans are expecting, but me personally, I expect a Super Bowl. And until/unless that happens, you are not great.[/quote]

Thats all you got left. We could go through the archives and see all the other incredibly wrong and baseless comments you've made about Romo but why bother?

I can't count high enough the number of inferior QBs you and your ilk had requested to replace Romo.

He will win the MVP this year or minimum in the top 3.

I've always contended that those 8-8 Cowboy teams would have had only 2-4 wins if you put just about any other QB in the NFL on the Cowboys, other than Rogers and Brady.

i would contend those teams would've been 11-5 and 10-6 if they didn't have jason garrett and callahan running the offense.

the biggest talent upgrade since 2013 has been in both coordinators spots. my opinion.

Like I said earlier, this stuff cannot be made up. The nonsense stretches outside and well-beyond what's spoken by highly paid sports entertainment network personalities though.

It would be a lot.

Change "the way it is", which thankfully, people have been doing.

Sick of the game of football being pinned on single players.

More specifically, it's pinned on QB's...rarely do you hear of any other position being blamed (or getting the credit, for that matter).
I was thinking about this, and I really couldn't think of a poor team with a great QB that got to a super bowl, much less won one.
On the other hand I could think of a number of poor-to-average QB's that got into playoffs and even won super bowls because of the supporting cast around them. A few examples: Mark Malone, Doug
Williams, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Tim Tebow, last years Arizona Cards - used four QB's if I recall correctly, and even Joe Namath...how that guy got into the HoF I'll never know...go look up his career stats. There are others, but my point is that the QB is not the determining factor in playoff/super bowl success. Yes, they can matter, but the supporting cast/coaching matters at least as much, if not more.

Romo and Randle share something in common..

If you get open for Romo he will find you.

If you block it for Randle he'll be productive.

Everyone has to do their job and Romo will be ok.

I don't like the fact that we aren't a very dynamic offense but I did like how we started the game with the quick passes to Dunbar and Beasley.

Well Miles didn't have hamstring injuries when he left here and doesn't seem to have them now in Philly. It wasn't all 100% Romo but most of it was.

Miles will always have hamstring issues. He and Romo had great chemistry get benefited him and Miles. But Miles is not nearly as elusive or fast as he was when he was a 1000 yard receiver. Miles wasn't "Miles" his last year with the Cowboys.

OK he doesn't have them anymore from what I've heard since he left here. My point is and will remain that regardless of Miles hamstring injuries Romo has made Austin and Robinson into better WRs than they are and since they left Dallas have not produced the same results.

Lets don't kid ourselves on MIles though. You have a argument with Laurent but Miles Austin's career suffered because of his hamstrings. His chemistry with Laurent Robinson was pretty impressive for a duo who had never played with each other prior to that year for Robinson.

Romo has chemistry with all his receivers. Even Owens.

It's already been established that when it's a regular season game, no pressure on, then he's Montana. But in the post season, well...

There was no pressure on him during the Giants game? And how did he do in last year's playoff games? Please. Troll on.

And the last two times we've made the playoffs, we've won games, it translates to playoff success unless you only consider it success if it leads to the Super Bowl. Then, I guess, it's not a success.

Tony Romo and his Cowboys have only won 2 playoff games, and has never gotten to the conference championship game. That's not playoff success. I'm not blaming Romo for that, but like I said before, it will be held against him regardless of what any of us thinks.

 He's already great.

QBs can't win championships on their own. Ask Marino.

Try telling that to some knuckleheads on this forum who think they know more than they actually do! Here is a fine quote from one of them...

"Romo could not even beat a one legged Rodgers". Guess which idiot wrote that. lol

You're entitled to your opinion. Personally, I have watched every playoff game in Cowboys history. I can tell you that Staubach, my favorite Cowboy of all time, and Aikman would not have been Super Bowl winners without the team (offense and defense) they had around them. This notion that the QB is the determinant of playoff/superbowl wins is absurd. It takes a certain level of players (ALL PLAYERS) and a certain level of COACHING to get there, and especially to win it. You have your opinion, I have mine.

What a concept, huh. I wish the stupid would realize this and stop trying so hard to disparage what Romo has done, then out of the other side of their mouth say, "But, I'm not a Romo hater...I actually like and root for the guy...it's just, he is a choker because of his elimination, spotlight games that he cannot win". Totally stupid logic...yet is there for all to see...on a daily basis!

When one makes a comment such as "Romo can't read defenses", that tells me all I need to know about that person's football knowledge. He's actually one of the very best at it. But, hey, whatever makes them feel good.

The team is not great without one. A sb, the team is great.

So true. Look at Eli Manning for an example. Won two SB's, MVP's with the first one where he closed his eyes, launched a duck and his receiver caught it on his helmet for a lucky catch...Eli is now elite, so I have heard from some fool(s).

Then, his second SB, his 9-7 team with their defense won the game...Eli is now elite all over again. I've read it right here from some clown.

Then, Sunday, what does this "elite" Eli do? He craps his pants because he loses his focus during the last minutes of a game where his team could have won. Yeah, Eli is sooo great.
