Take the net stat of points per drive, and combine it with two other net stats -- pass rating differential and turnover differential. Since 2008, there have been 43 teams that finished the season ranked among the top 12 in pass rating differential, turnover differential, and points-per-drive differential. All 43 teams made the playoffs or won at least 10 games. Here are the teams that did it this past season, along with their net rankings:statistics don't mean a damn thing.
statistics don't mean a damn thing.
peyton set all time records this year...but looked like a rookie out there.
Funny you say this because leading up to this game and pretty much the whole season, I was under the impression Peyton was the only player that suited up for Denver.
Glad Denver lost. Even better, they got humiliated from the gun. Seattle led for 59:48. Denver did not score until a garbage TD down by 36.
Can't stand the Mannings at all.
Jerry always seems to fall in love with the latest champ. Maybe just maybe he will start building along the DL and safety positions ...that seems to be the best we could hope from this game

It also proved that defense wins games in the playoffs......always has and always will with the rare exception.
The same applies to MLB(pitching and defense) and the NBA(defense). Occasionally, there is that team that stops the trend but it is far and few between.
This super bowl proved one thing
It also proved that QB's don't win anything on their own. Teams win.
How come he doesn't ever copy the latest champ's our owner isn't our GM thing?

Defense wins championships.
And the team with the highest combined rankings in the most important stats...won it all.Sure stats mean someting.
The number one defense statistically won the Super Bowl and proved they were the number one defense
The number one offense statistically made it all the way to the Super Bowl.
This win confirms what we already knew about which stats are the most important. Seattle was #1 in pass rating differential, #1 in turnover differential, and #2 in point per drive differential. It proved the passing game efficiency differential statistics have it just about exactly right as far as I'm concerned.
