I have been a Cowboys fan since 1973 .I am and have always been a diehard Cowboys fan. This Cowboys team has as much talent as any team in the league. But this team just finds ways to beat themselves .Here is the list.Fumble at the goalline.Pollard not cutting to the pylon.Ignoring CeeDee for 2 quarters.Penalties at the worst times.Wrong Oline personnel on the field ,Chuma is not good. How can you not even look at the Defensive End.

not sure why we didn't slide Smith out to LT. its the 2nd most important position on offense. not only that, your RT is struggling. if coaches don't see that, then they are stupid.

The list is longer than that. How about losing Ridgeway to the Commanders when they were desperate for DT help. How about losing Cox and Harper the same way when they were thin at LB? How about trading Cooper for a 5th round pick and then not replacing Cooper with a competent WR?

At the same time, maybe fans just have to be more realistic. The 49ers had a 3 game losing streak and the sky was falling. Then they won 6 in row and then they were manhandled by the Ravens last night at home. Their fans had doubts. The Eagles lost 3 in a row and the fans wanted to bench Hurts, get rid of AJ Brown and the HC. The Eagles took defensive play calling responsibilities away from the DC! The Bills had a bad streak and fans were trashing Josh Allen.

When a team goes on a losing streak you do you know what they look like? They look like the Cowboys against the Bills and Miami.

Let's let the season play out and see what happens.

This thread is 100% true. It’s not that we lack the players to make enough good plays to win. We have that. We make too many mistakes to beat the best teams.

We have the dumbest plays and play calls and penalties at the absolute worst times. But yet Dak and this team will pick up almost impossible 3rd down plays when we need it. Its all about the trenches…

I want to believe in this team. I have little faith in them coming back when things go wrong. I will say the current team is more finesse than gritty. To be fair I grew up spoiled by Tom Landry's Cowboys and those teams could be gritty and with Roger at the helm I never ever felt we would lose when those things happened. This team at home is a force. On the road with adversity they shrink. I won't mention the refs here. Penalties pre snap is killing drives. Like I said I want to believe. Please Dak and company ratchet up the intensity level and take over games when down. Football players do that on championship caliber teams.

Edoga doesn’t seem aware of the offensive line calls. Brings back memories of Chaz Green

Seems like the same team every year. But I will say since MM came in that we have been a 12 win team most every year. We have to get over the hump. Our Defense looked great for a bit but 1 injury to our DT and teams run all over us.

Nit quite chaz but really close. What reminded me of it is the fact they did not seem to give him help. I remember JG say at halftime they were gonna give chaz help but he never did. And then had the balls to say something like it was a good learning experience for Dak. Then he went on to take another 6 sacks the next week against egirls. A lot of people don’t remember the next game. It ruined Daks internal clock for a few years…

Yeah I think if we can get in there and beat niners that we will beat ravens. We have to get over the hump..
I love your optimism and I hope you are right. I felt like they had a really good shot in Miami but Buffalo i was worried... We dropped both and now have a pretty good Lions team coming into our house. Something has got to click and we need to start playing mistake free football or history will repeat itself. My old coach would have run us for days for the penalties these Pros get. We had to run for every penalty we got in high school. I wish our coaches did the same ha ha.

They have for a long time. It's one of the many reasons for not buying into the hype. It's extremely frustrating. Not as bad as the garret days but still bad

That sounds like something Jimmy Johnson would do. But he would have sat Edoga and got in Quinn’s *** to bring run blitzes. As of right now we can’t run or stop the run. They are depending on Dak to make big plays. More so than most all other teams. We run the ball 16 times. That wont get it done. Use Dowdle early and often and let Pollard come in and do what he does. Yes Luepke fumbled but not sure that he was supposed to get that ball. That’s on MM as much as anyone else. He had 3 carry’s before that game.

We have 2 more games to get the poop in a group before the playoffs…

With the caveat that every team makes mistakes in losses that drive their fans crazy ...

It's infuriating that so many of the key plays in the last two weeks have been completely unforced errors by the Cowboys -- personal fouls after a third-down play or down was over, fumbling the exchange on a handoff, a receiver lining up offsides, etc. It's not like the key "mistakes" were a DB grabbing a receiver b/c he was going to get beat. The Bills and Dolphins didn't put pressure on us to do those things; they were just elementary mental or physical errors we made.
