THIS team, better to go into bye from W or L?

It's never good to lose.

Unless losing means that Wade Phillips gets fired in the bye week. It's never good to lose.

If they lose to KC, I envision a meltdown of epic performance, both with the team, the coaches and the fans.

If Dallas loses to KC, they would be underdogs in every game left on the slate . . .

. . . even against the skins.

Especially a meltdown on this board of nuclear proportions......

Pretty much!

i can see the logic behind the question but as has been previously said it is not better to lose under any circumstances.

Win or lose, nothing will change. The outcome of both will be the same. With a loss, though, there will be a lot of moaning and groaning, a lot of fake teamwork and "progress" talk, and, as you say, a whole lot of apology by Dr. Jones and Professor Feather, but that's about it. The team will not make the playoffs either way.

SMH @ this thread.

Losing to the Chiefs is gonna turn our season around...realllllllly.

Threads just keep getting better and better.

Now, dont get excited. I dont want to lose any games.

But here are possible scenarios.

Team goes into bye after a win. They relax, maybe dont practice as hard. Jerry thinks everything is ok. Wade walks around saying "3-2 is better than 2-3" etc... etc... blah blah

Team goes into bye after a loss. Their world gets turned upside down. They come out of the bye like a man on fire.

The "motivation" behind this thread is for what is best for this team, long term, THIS season.

Thoughts.
Blast away.
Me thinks no one leaves a game with the win against a winless team combined with two other wins against winless teams feeling like everything is okay. But that is just me...

From a motivational standpoint, winning ugly/barely against KC (ala Bengals game last year) going into the bye would probably be the best case scenario.

The media would kill for two weeks, we would be above .500 and would most likely play inspired ball against ATL.

If this team beats the crap out of ATL after the bye it really gives them something to build on for the rest of the season. Maybe it leads to a little roll.

YoMick, losing is not an option. No option. Cowboys lose, season is over. The Schedule is too difficult to lose this one.

The season hinges on this game.

I dont believe the season hinges on this game. If we lose and go 2-3 its not over. Not with 11 games to go. That just doesnt make sense. Too many teams, year after year, make late season runs or last game of the season runs = win and your in, etc...

If this team were going to learn from a loss it would have happened a long, long time ago.

That is hard to read. But thus far true.

True, but how many times has "this" team made a late season run? I think Hostile or somebody compiled our W/L record in December dating back to the late 1990s and it was awful.

We may be in the toughest division in the NFL and we don't play our 2nd Division game until Week 9.

If we lose to the 0-4 Chiefs, I believe the season is probably over.

Are you saying it is a given that we will not play well in dec this year?

No, I am saying that based on passed experiences, it wouldn't surprise me or anyone on this board if the Cowboys tank in the December.

Of course the late 1990s Cowboys or even teams from a few years ago don't have an impact on this team but we don't have to go back that far to show that under this coach and most of the players, they haven't played well in December.

Not only does the season hinge on this game, jobs are on the line this weekend.

So you believe the Cowboys can go 8-2 vs road games against the Giants, Skins, Philly, Saints & Greenbay? Plus homes games against Atlanta and San Diego?

Kudos to you if you have the faith to believe that.

Thats what I was refering to. The future is unwritten. I wont run with the "late season runs we die"

I hear ya. It may be a 10-6 entry.... who knows at this point. The NFL season is long and has many twists and turns.

I agree. What Dallas did last dec or the one before that means nothing what you do now is what matters.

Which is why I think this team, Romo has to crash and burn and hit bottom to rise from the ashes. None of this sinewave stuff. A flat out stock market CRASH.

We saw Giants rise from 0-2
We saw Boston Red Sox hit absolute bottom at 0-3 to come out and play loose and win 4 straight.

Etc...

I think Romo is feeling low enough right now. Dallas is 2-2 and I think the players know they have not been able to put together the type of play they need to do if they want to contend. Right now I think going out putting up 4 good qrts of football will help this team more than anything.

I hear ya. I do.

If this was a BUY or SELL.

Show me first.

Romo was down after Seattle.
Romo was down after losing to Giants at home in playoffs.
Romo was down after blowing the opening game at NEW stadium.

Fool me once.
Fool me twice.
Fool me three... times....

Hey what the heck :lmao2:

Wrong. But it is a deeper hole.

Take a look at the 71 season. It doesn't get a lot more worse than that. I hope this team continues to believe in itself. They are as close to being 4-0 as they are to being 1-3.
