I went into this offseason feeling 1000% sure that we should have cleaned house and not resign Dak, CeeDee or Micah but that we would end up doing it anyway. Fells like 1987 or 1988 all over again - knowing the Landry era had run its course. It's going to take an outside force, some new owner outside the Jones organization that will blow the house down and start over.

Been done a half a dozen times since Jimmy Johnson left.

The scouts and coaches build a team, the team starts winning, Jerry pushes everyone aside, claims credit, proves it by making decisions, team begins to struggle, then crumble, the wrong people get blamed, Jerry fires them and decides the team needs to be rebuilt, the vicious circle continues because the person mostly at fault has a rather personal relationship with the owner in that he is that person.
It was done when Jimmy got here. Good thing he didn't have a quitters attitude.

Prove me wrong, we have a better than average QB but no online and one receiver and kicker. What else do we have? RB, OL, Dline and linebackers are horrible. d back are average. Why pay Micah and wage him? Let him go and trade CD and Dak and begin rebuild with draft. This team has dropped beyond plugging a few players to fill some holes.

Soon to join that club is an undecided LB/DE that's dinged up at the moment.
Jerry loves paying his under performers.
I didn't even want to mention him because it's already bad enough, however, your totally right...good times.

No, it was a good thing he had complete control over all football related decisions.

It was in his contract. He built that team and he was the only HC that hired all his own coaches and scouts, was the spokesman for the team, and made every draft decision when he was here.

Jerry Jones swore he would never do that again.

That team was so good it won another SB on autopilot.

I was really hoping Jerry would let all 3 of them walk away and start the rebuild but here we are. It’s going to be many years before this team even sniffs a playoff victory never mind a championship.

Well then, good thing Jerry hired him and gave him control...

you are not far from the truth, but Jerry won't do it...as long as we are in the middle of the pack, he will spin hope and sell sell sell. being at the bottom would mean loss of money, revenue and longer time to get back...given Jerry does things year over year with no actual long term plan, he will do whatever to keep us at best middle of the pack. the only way is for us to lose out, real bad, be embarassed and have lots of Detroit type losses. then he will make some moves...

draft a big name player. sign a big name FA and sign a big name coach (short term gain)....just so he can get back to the middle and he can do his usual spin.

this team is really devoid of a lot of needed talent, given the past two year the drafts have been really bad.....and when you don't do FA, then draft is your route, and you screw up the draft...you are screwed.

Someone will take it.
With the NTC? That'll reduce the number of potential teams that Dak would consider......probably to those with an already good offense. If they've got a offense (and presumably a good QB), why trade away draft capital for the privilege of taking Dak and the contract.

.....then add Jerry's complete inability to make any deal and you have the perfect answer to discredit your OP.

exactly right. If you are great in 2 of those categories and decent in the 3rd category, you have a legit shot. And you are right...0-3 for our team.

We don’t have enough football players on this squad. We have bodies that’s it.
Give me a team of football players, keep your star as your prima donnas. It’s football players that win football games. I shouldn’t have to tell you the difference.
