If this defense is a weapon then Micah Parsons is the trigger.

Whoever the Cowboys quarterback is has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the performance of this defense. It should be obvious to all that Micah's return to the field far outweighs Cooper Rush's performance.

How many offenses do you suppose, can average 23.2 points a game for five games and go 4-1?

The average points allowed by the Cowboys for the six games prior to this 4-1 run was 31.5 points a game. They were 1-5.

Over the past 5 games, a 4-1 record, the Cowboys defense has limited opponents to scoring an average of 22.6 points, a ten point shift.

This is the "Parsons Effect" in addition to greater familiarity with Zimmer's system

You’re right. But, how much better is it? Bland and Micah are back, but Diggs and Overshown are now gone, as are Zach Martin and Beebe.

Martin played poorly from the jump. Rush got three games from an RB with 100+ that couldn’t sniff 100 when Dak was in there. The defensive is playing light years better than before Dak was injured, plus Dak had no Cooks and our TE1 was injured.

I’m sorry, there’s just no legit comparison between Dak and Rush imo.

Part of it is the new guys (who werent good enough to start before) are playing better than the guys they replaced.
Rush had 0 turnovers got a early lead, and scored enough to win.

It helped that todd bowles gave dallas a easy td drive for their 1st td.

Rush is the better backup of the 2. The other being Dak. Neither will ever make a playoff run or win a SB. We still need a QB!

It's tempting to pump Rush's tires because the fact he's winning is a bad, bad look for Dak the overpaid plug but yeah, he's not the solution either. Couldn't care less about him and won't act like he's a hero because of these meaningless wins. If we had a QB of the future and he was the one winning right now then yes, I'd be happy. But who cares about Rush.

Dak and Rush are similar talent wise. Each is better/worse at certain things, but overall the same.

The difference seems to be that Dak is as devisive in the locker room as he is on CZ. Rush just quietly gets on with the job without the distractions of a publicity crew etc.

BTW neither are starter quality.

Quit on him, no. But they sense the fear. Look at how much more calm CeeDee is. Rush is no great shakes but he just goes out and plays. Dak talks all this nonsense and keeps looking like a fool when he can't back it up. He's a strutting clown. Guys pick up on that.

The Dakstans/Dakvidians/Dak-Over-Dallas fans are the most discredited fanbase in all of sports. They threw tantrums and name called begging for Dak to be resigned. They got their wish and this entire season has been one big in-their-face.

I have stated this many times in the past as Rush is a Grunt like them and not some overrated/overpaid fraud of QB and Human being called Prescott!!!
They refuse to play and give 100% and it shows esp when he starts doing the Deer in the Headlights dance......
