This was first season in 3 years I felt hope starting to come back

Jerrys been selling snake oil and duping folks longer than many of us been alive. This year was no different. Don't feel bad for having hope, as many have been fooled by JJ.

That's the thing though, I was literally questioning whether or not to stay a fan the last two offseasons with how fuming I was with the Cowboys after the Packers loss and the stuff that followed. This was the ONE offseason I thought they actually had something good going the right way. But of course, we can never have anything nice. Oh well, Jerry gets to keep getting his buddy SAS paid for laughing and leading the charge of making us fans miserable I guess.

The sad thing is the way this season started I have no real hope for next season either. It's not like they are building anything. I can't say the defensive scheme looks solid, just wait until they get a few more players in it.

I hated the feeling that we had no shot. And this offseason actually gave me hope. We actually seemed to be doing things a better way. But no. Nothing changes. Just spirals down the toilet.

I genuinely don't know what to do. I'm a diehard fan. I genuinely love the Cowboys. But, at the same time, it's hard knowing that this team just doesn't have what it takes.

Same. I really thought this was the year, but nope. Same old Cowboys. Why do we do this to ourselves?

Honestly, I wasn't even expecting a SB. That's the thing. My bar was just expecting us to win the division since the division is weaker than it has been in a few years. That was literally my bar for this team.

And with how few picks we have. Honestly, wouldn't be a bad draft to pick a QB. Might have to sit him a year or two, but maybe next year is a tank year knowing Dak's deal expires after the 27 season. So, if we get a QB, maybe we can at least have that to develop while we try to get this defence right. And we'd have a QB under a rookie deal going forward.

Me too, this shocked me. I was predicting another trophy in the case. Oh well, I'll be back every week, cheering these awesome guys on. I might even go back to my opossum suit. It brought Big Mike some good seasons. How bout dem Cowboys......

Let me clarify. I am NOT saying I was expecting a SB or anything like that. My bar for this season was that I expected us to win what should be an easier NFC East, and it is.... unfortunately, the Giants have taken the division by the horns instead of us. All I wanted was us to win the division. I wouldn't care if we lost in the playoffs as long as we are competitive. That's literally my bar. Win the division, and at least be competitive in a playoff game.....that's it.

Honestly, I'm wondering how much is the coaching (especially with Parker) and how much is the players? The players just don't seem to care. On that 70 yard run, the blitz got there, but nobody seemed to want to make the tackle. We have players that are just there to collect payment. The effort last night was horrendous.

And why is all of that the case?

You can’t throw lobster, rack of lamb, caviar and foie gras into a pot and think it’s all going to taste good. Then if it doesn’t, think about getting a filet mignon to add.

It’s just not how things work. You need stock and seasonings, herbs etc…the right mix, and more importantly someone who knows what to do and not do.

Chef Jerry collects players and coaches and thinks he is the master architect of it all because he once worked a burger grill for a summer in the early 60s.

But it’s his restaurant and he and his kids are having fun. We have no real choice but to eat there.

That's part of the reason that I think it's time to look for his successor. As much as I like Dak, I think we've hit the wall for as much as we are going to get. He's 33. He's at his prime as an NFL QB. We probably have about 2-3 seasons left where he will be at his best. The draft class this year has some great options. I think the FO should take one and sit him a season or two behind Dak.

I was hoping that would've happened with the Parsons trade when we had two #1's we could trade for a better #1. But then Jerry traded that away to fix the defense.

I think alot of us did. But: as with everything else this team wastes no time creating new and unique ways to fail and embarrass us all.

In classical mythological lore, this ego driven, insidious, hideous, repulsive Cowboys team would be put to the sword along with it's architects while we the people pray for forgiveness and return of favor from the Gods of Olympus.

I predict that the defense will break all negative stats in the books.

The offense will produce nothing but useless stats for the record books.

Special teams will be the worst in the league.

The coaching staff will implode and Jerry will have a verbal spat with Stephen on live television.

Welcome to the club bro. Entered it back in '22 , seems like more and more people finally getting it.

Though EVERYONE should have gotten the message on Jan 14th 2024. You're late to the party.

You need to not get so emotionally attached to something you can't control.

Take it for what it is, just entertainment.

I root for the Cowboys, the Spurs, and of course my Longhorns, but at the end of the day its just games and nothing more. There are far more serious and worse things going on in life than if one of my sports teams loses a game or sucks for an entire season.

Well, it seems that 31 fanbases are allowed to be hopeful. But if a Cowboys fan ever feels anything resembling hope, it's "There's that delusional Cowboys fan". It's like, I'm sorry, but this is my favourite team. I'm allowed to cheer on and be a fan of this team as much as anyone else has a right to be a fan of the other 31 teams. It's crazy how we Cowboys fans are targeted more than other fanbases. Last night wouldn't be so bad if most of the country wasn't enjoying our misery

What’s even crazier, it’s cowboy fans that call you delusional, not fans of the other 31 teams,

LMAO... take that kid's costume off and get some fresh air. sheesh..Hope and Dallas in the same sentence. roflmao.
