This was our worst case scenario draft

Nothing fell our way. The run on OL and DL, only one QB and WR before us. 6 of the top 11 were OL, then Richardson and Star got close but were taken. I would have liked Vaccarro at that point, but he goes 15. Not much choice but to trade back at that point and a early 3rd isn't too bad. Probably took a chance that Sly Williams would be there at 31 and almost was. They obviously didn't like Floyd or Elam and I don't disagree. I knew it was going bad when Cooper went #7.

There's a simple solution for that scenario:
Draft best player available.

But Jerry crapped his pants again.

It was our worse case alright. Jerry calling the shots and he is an imbecile!

And there is zero accountability for the stain it will leave.

exactly. everyone praying for OL help then complain when we fill a need and get a pick in the best area of this draft. Complain if we trade up, down or stay and say we reached. all before anything is said and done...

At the rate this draft is going Logan may make it to pick 114 and I'm cool with that. I said my share of F bombs when we traded away from Floyd but I'm cool with Frederick because I think he's better than what we have now and can really help improve our Oline.

Just thinking of the first DT that came to mind. My point is that after all our "guys" were gone, getting 2 players all rated the same for one seems like a no-brainer. No one we passed on was elite.

Absolutely no one we had a choice on was elite and I'm glad we actually got an extra pick out of it. If Cooper or Warmack were in next years draft they wouldn't have gone as high as they did and that's fine because this team is going to add Clabo or Winston after this draft and the Oline will be vastly improved.

I will agree that nothing really fell our way in the draft, but the level of disgust I have after this pick, especially seeing that we accepted a bad trade to move down is just appalling. Yeah, at least we are done with Costa but as far as i'm concerned thanx for nothin Jerry!!!

I thought plenty fell our way be we didn't capitalize

Floyd was on the board at 18. Nobody anywhere predicted that

But then we traded down with poor value but still saw Sly Williams fall all the way to 28. So we got a 3rd in the trade and could have given up less (a 4th or 5th) to barely move up and get him. Lots of trading going on so it could have happened in the 22-27 range.

Once we blew it on sly, we could have traded down into the early second and still have easily gotten Frederick plus maybe a 4th.

I don't get it

But tomorrow is another day

Nailed it. I am still mad.

The first 15 picks were out of our control. I cursed after each one and knew it wasn't our night, but getting a 3rd pick made it better. We needed a run on QBs but it never happened. Hopefully it's starts early tomorrow to push some other guys back.

They said they weren't looking at Sly there. They wanted one of two interior OL they were targeting at 31.

Yea, once Vaccaro went at 15 we were SOL.

SF offered a 3rd on a trade down and said take it or leave it, so we didn't have much choice.

Just a terribly weak draft class this year, a lot of these 1st rounders would go in the 2nd round in almost any other year.

Can we wait to see what we have by the end of tomorrow before we all start saying this was a disaster?

Couldn't disagree more:eek:

The Cowboys looked @ a gift horse in the mouth....and passed

Passing on Shariff Floyd (Warren Sapp 2.0) will haunt this team for a decade.

This is almost as bad as us passing WR Randy Moss.....it's that bad of a mistake.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I don't understand....

They were so enamoured w/ Richardson- yet were blatantly defiant in not picking the superior Floyd.

Floyd was exactly what this team needed if it was gonna convert to the Tampa-2.

Now IMO...this puts a huge question mark on our scouting staff- if it even understands the scheme and the the type of players it takes to run it.

This is a pretty good summary.

Frederick is growing on me and maybe they just didn't think that much of Sharif but the anger and bad vibes from the war room tell another story.

We left both value and a highly rated player on the board.
