You guys are in denial. This guy has only one year as an offensive coordinator and you are trying to tell me that if he is offered a head coaching job (I don't care WHAT team it is with) that he is going to turn it down? Come on now.

I could see going to Miami -- but Atl and Bal are screwed up something fierce on offense. A guy like Garrett needs to go somewhere that there are weapons for him to use. Otherwise it is a poor fit. I doubt either team would be terribly hot on him because of those fit issues.

The Turdmeister is wildly overpaying Saunders and Williams to keep them from straying. Jerry will do the same if he feels so inclined.

Well, that is another issue. Money talks.

There isn't an opening for him yet. Of course that didn't stop me from thinking about Mike Solari for Ol Coach if Sparano leaves.

My point though is I don't think OC is going to be an open spot here. Sparano will go to Miami. Garrett isn't going anywhere. We need an OL Coach. Cameron will be an OC.

I wasn't thinking of replacing Garrett with Cameron. Instead, I was thinking of hiring Cameron as QB coach or some type of "assistant" I just think he is a brilliant mind and wouldn't mind having him for a season. I know he will likely get another OC job some place else but if we can hire him in some capacity, I think we should do it. The Chargers ended up doing something similar by hiring Ron Rivera as a linebackers coach. I think Rivera will get another DC position somewhere this offseason.

How could you see him going to Miami? There is nothing on the Dolphins offense either. Anyone in his position aspires to be a head coach but I don't think he is stupid. I don't think he will jump at the first job opening. He will evaluate positions. This isn't like being offerred the Steelers head coaching job in which that team had abundant talent. If the Giants or Broncos head coaching positions become available, I would be concerned.

Yeah, that's what I'm telling you... you see, unlike you Garrett is EXTREMELY intelligent... he's smart enough to recognize that taking a job where you're set up to fail, i.e., going to a really bad team to "rebuild" it, is career suicide if you wish to have a long career as a head coach in the NFL...

The smart young coach will stay where he's had success, and bide his time until the right situation comes along... that smart young coach will be confident enough in his own abilities to be assured that teams will continue to come calling on him, so long as he continues to find success in his current gig...

Go to Baltimore or Atlanta, and in a year Garrett is liable to be on the streets like Cameron is now, with his reputation in tatters... some jobs are coach killers, and smart coaches know how to recognize such jobs, and avoid them like the plague...

I'd go after Josh McDaniel's before i'd go after Cam Cameron. I'd also be intrigued if somehow jerry could lure tom Moore away from indy. These would be my first two choices. Cam Cameron was a one hit wonder over in s.d. & he didn't too good of a job play-calling in the playoffs. So my answer to cam is no he'd be way down my list as potential candidates to succeed big red.
