Thoughts and Prayers needed...

Latest update (from Sunday afternoon)...

I left his room this afternoon and will be back late in the week ...Thank you all so much for your prayers and for those who have visited thanks for your support on that level also...

Here is the latest info:

He had been steadily improving throughout the weekend, and it was believed he would be off of the ventilator today to be able to speak with folks.

However, he had a bad night last night, as his blood pressure went up significantly, probably due to the amount of visitors he had recently and his inability to respond to them. They put him on 4 medications and this lowered his blood pressure, but then early today it was too low.

As of this afternoon they had stabilized his blood pressure - he could still have visitors, but we were not allowed to talk to him. Another piece of bad news was that as of this afternoon his kidneys had "stopped working" again, according to his mom....this was the last piece of info I got before I left....

Things are best described as "day-to-day" / "up and down" at this point...Basically, they are trying to get him healthy enough to where he can undergo surgery which will be required for the aortic aneurysm.

Gotta new update.
Cedrick is doing a little better than yesterday. However, they are still extremely concerned about his kidneys. He has been started on dialysis. We have to hope that works and that it does not lower his blood pressure too much for him to tolerate. His heart rate has also dropped, from the high 80s to the high 60s but they haven't really given his family a reason for this…they only says its still in the "range." They are going to do the dialysis for two hours today, three tomorrow and four Thursday. This has to work for him so pray really hard.

Because of his blood pressure, they are not allowing him any visitors. He can hear people but is still unable to respond, and with the latest setback, they are not waking him up right now. However, his mom is still there all the time and its quite obvious she appreciates the visitors. So, you don't have to pay attention to visiting hours, just go whenever to the ICU waiting room and visit with his mom and sister.

When they can stabilize him they will do surgery on the aneurysm, so he's got a long haul. Keep thinking positive thoughts!

Thought that I would update, for those interested. There's good news.

Yesterday he had a tracheotomy, and he came through it fine. Today he was able to come off the ventilator, and is responsive and talking.

Thank you all for your prayers. It's paying off, like I knew it would.

Off the ventilator is a good sign.
