Brady is a phony. Not real. Superb talent but bad character. He is done in my eyes and in the eyes of many football lovers. Who cares about his rings anymore?

a fake deflated ball story is so much worse then selling coke out of your car trunk

Actually yes, most fans know these guys are not saints, its been that way with organized sports since the turn of the 20th century. But when you mess with the integrity of the game, ie cheating. the public gets much more mobbish on it.

The public comes to see a game that where the better team wins via skill, luck, and perseverance. When they think things are not on the up and up they leave, look at the beating baseball took. Look at all the scandals in sports where the perception that someone did not play the game the "right" way, Black Sox, Pete Rose, NCAA Point shaving, etc. If fans as a whole think the game is fixed that is when they will leave. So sorry but fans do not care about what a player does off the field as long as he can play on it. Today's sports is nothing more than the gladiator games with more rules and everyone walks off the field of battle to battle again the nextt week.

I already said fans don't care but you miss the point. Its still more important and wrong then anything that happens on any ball field.
and your examples are meaningless because nothing happened to baseball. All the teams still exist and all the players make too much money. I can also guarantee you that most are on steroids still.

And you miss the point sports are an escape no one cares about real life problems on Sunday they just care the game is played fairly and they are entertained.

If the Pats thought Brady could or would win, I doubt Garropolo splits the reps with Brady during mini camp. It is obvious that Brady is unwilling to turn over his cell phone records because the content implicates him. He loses the appeal it looks bad. He doesn't appeal it looks bad. He is a lucky man to only get 4 games. The appeal is just a public image exercise. The NFL will continue to push his legendary status though. Just like they do for the Stealers. 10 years from now, it will be as if this never happened as far as the league is concerned. The Stealers were never riddled with steroid abuse in the 70's. The 49ers never circumvented the cap in '94. That's the funny thing about history. People only want to remember the nice parts.
